Timeline Factors

It was said, as I recall, that Boris's home planet was 20 light years from Earth, and, I believe, after he goes back in time and kills K, he returned to his home planet.

So that would take 20 years, on whatever secret space ship he had available. (And if he sent a signal, it would take that long also.) And it would take 20 years to get back with an invasionary force.

So if MIB3 is set in 2012, that would give Boris the two transit times, and about three years to assemble the invasionary force.

That would explain the timeline issues about why it took so long for the invasion of the Earth, which we saw underway when J was on the Chrysler Building, even though the ArcNet had been thwarted in 1969.
