Something that bothers me about this

Okay I liked the movies. WTH there was always going to be remakes and you have to learn to either ignore them and not go or deal with it and just enjoy them for what they are..popcorn flicks.

BUT they seem so blase about the incredible death tolls. The ship crashing into the city must have killed tens of thousands of people yet no one acts like it is any big deal. Kirk gets praise for averting a war but no mention of the terrible death toll both in lost crewmen/women and people on Earth.

Just seems like callous writing. Yeah its just a movie but it sort of bothers me they kill so many people and there is no mention of the death and destruction during all these great ceremonies.

Without the blood and gore, it's supposed to be assumed there was no death toll; a family film! Just posted elsewhere about the crew of the Vengeance where we have no idea what happened to the ones that were stunned by Kirk and Scotty! We never saw Kahn deal with them before destruction of his ship! Maybe they were tired and decided to just lay there and rest!  

Yeah I know..every one of those buildings was empty for remodeling so no big deal...

I just watched it again and figure the death toll was probably close to one million people looking at the amount of tall buildings and people on the ground and giant flood that had to have gone inland at least several miles. The water wall was as tall as the saucer portion which meant it also bottomed out on floor of the SF Bay. THEN it was flat going across the city.

Yeah I know but it just seems the writers could have addressed the incredible amount of deaths.

Interesting shape of the saucer...it was more like a donut with a hole in the center.
