Because they all look late 20 something and in the case of Caroline and Damon atleast early to mid 30's. It's not the worst just a tid bit distracting thinking they should all be like 23-24 especially the vampire that shouldn't age past like 19 lol. I guess that was also the fault of Angel as well though too huh?

Elijah is older than Klaus and that means Klaus is a young teen. They all look in 30's but people are that into the characters that their age doesn't matter. I'd like for the writers to re-watch all the seasons and listen to what they say about characters ages and do an interview at the end confirming how old all the characters are meant to be. Stefan and Karoline 17? Elijah Klaus Finn Cole all teens-early 20's? They can't expect us to buy into that. I love the shows but when I think about the ages of characters it does actually get on my nerves

Yes, but fans don't care about that, they care about the characters and right now they want to see a satisfactory or, better yet, fantastically happy ending for their favorites. Fans don't care if the actors no longer look 17 or 23! We've been watching for 7 almost 8 years, and are happy that the actors stuck around.

Physically Stefan and Caroline are 17. Elena is 18. Damon is either 23 or 25 (depends on which part of the show you listen to). Elijah date of birth has been confirmed to be between late 977 to early 978 and was turned late 1001 making him 23-24. Finn was late 973 to anytime 974 making him 26-28. Klaus was shown in child flashbacks to be 3-4 years younger than Elijah and TVD flashback showed his birthday to be between January and April (because Katherine was turned April 1492 and Klaus celebrated his birthday shortly before in the same year) which would make him 19-20 (because if Elijah is 24 then he would have just turned 24 and Klaus would not have turned 21 yet). Kol is around 2 years younger at 17-18 and Rebekah 1 year at 16-17. Most likely is 27-24-20-18-17 for the originals.
When Esther said Finn is lucky to not be in a teenager body, she was referring to how she herself at the time was in a teenager body.
