We're all on our way out, act accordingly.

1. Graduation was inevitable, they're high school.

2. Caroline's journalism from S1 is forgotten until S7, so much so that's she's a drama major in S6.

3. Tyler's full moon sequence is really the only foretelling sign story-wise.

Even thought TVD was on top of the TV world at this time, or at least rising to it, the writers still event foresighted past S3, they've already admitted they didn't actually have a 5-6 year plan.
Caroline's journalism came from someone in the writers room going "hey, I watched 1x10 yesterday and remember how she wanted to be a Journalist?" It's all pretty much confirmed after she mysteriously stopped being a drama major from 6x17 to 7x02.

If you're referring to the future with Stefan being that she wouldn't be with him by Graduation, there was absolutely no foretelling as not of the triangle had an exact timetable. There's numerous interviews that bring up that even bring up Damon and Elena were supposed to be a fling in S3, but with the hype they had decided to turn it into much more. Which, ultimately they blew using the sire bond.
