I know the writers said this season would feel like season 1, but this was just all over the place. They just recycled some scenes from season one, but the S1 vibe was just not there for me. The lying in the road might have worked, if it wasn't used at least 5 times over the course of the show. The 'hello brother' was cringy. Idk if it's due to Ian's over the top acting being off (more than usual) or just bad writing. Surely after 7 seasons, they should've been able to go about it more smootly than just throwing in a few of the greatest hits. Recycling old scenes isnt't gonna make the ratings go up, lazy writers.

Well since they are ending the show, I don't think they care much if ratings go up or down. It doesn't matter this is it.

exactly. I liked all the S1 throwbacks with a twist. Each to their own I suppose.

True. But you'd think they would at least try to show some respect for their viewers and make the final season count. I guess not.

I like the S1 references, call me sentimental. Looking forward to more. Will miss this show.

They have used the lying in the road too much, I agree. I also don't like the flashbacks, absent Elena. If she were still on the show, I would mind less, but it just sort of bothers me that instead of crafting a story that can stand on its own, we are still at the mercy of Elena related storylines. I don't think it is necessary.

I'm curious, why do you even watch the show anymore? All you have are complaints and spoilers. Then you complain about the spoilers... why?

It's a discussion board. I am sorry if you can't handle complaints about the show, but this is for discussions. I am not going to justify myself to you.

I love Damon, Alaric,Enzo an the girls, I'm happy they're still together. As for the show, I'm interested in seeing what becomes of it. I love the TVD start to finish.
