I thought he chose to be a vampire to be with Katherine? I know he wanted to not feed and die when he thought Katherine was dead, but he made the deal to save her under the church, he knew she was alive. How was he going to save her from the tomb if he didn't turn vampire?
I remember Stefan bringing the bleeding girl to Damon to feed on and turn. It was still Damon's choice to feed, Stefan didn't force the blood down his throat.
How much longer could the deal with the Bennett witch have been? They put the vampires in the church and burned it that night.
I remember Stefan bringing the bleeding girl to Damon to feed on and turn. It was still Damon's choice to feed, Stefan didn't force the blood down his throat.
Yes, Damon made the decision to drink. But Stefan set up a situation that made that outcome inevitable. The show has shown that a person in transition has a strong hunger for blood. So, given that, imagine Damon has 10 years sobriety and Stefan knew the only way to save his life was for him to get high (for some reason). So, despite his brother's firm declaration that he did not want to get high, even if it saved his life, he buys the drugs, prepares the needle, and puts it in a vein but the brother, rather than Stefan, makes the decision to push the plunger. Getting Damon high works and saves him, but it also reawakens his addiction. Afterwards, he becomes a full-blown addict. Willing to kill, deceive, and be cruel just to get high. And guess what! It's also much easier because the drug Stefan gave him also lets him shut off his emotions. Is Stefan not responsible for his actions and the consequences they wrought? reply share
I can see Stefan taking some responsibility but Damon wanted to turn to be with Katherine, right? Damon made a decision to turn before his father shot them. The only reason he resisted feeding from the girl was he thought Katherine was dead. But he learned soon afterwards she was alive and made a deal with the witch to keep her alive. So since Katherine was alive, why would Damon resent turning, staying alive himself?
Well that was the entire point. Damon had no inclination to be a vampire, he just wanted to be with Katherine and was willing to do or be anything to have her. His choice for himself was to die rather than transition when he thought Katherine was dead. Vampirism no longer held any interest for him at all. Stefan took away Damon's choice and with that his humanity......This is something that has been brought to the fore with new storyline, apparently Damon has seen HELL up close and he believes that is where he is headed and has been for 167 years. If he had died a human he would be at peace. Jeremy went through a similar thing with Vikki. He wanted to become a vampire when he believed Vikki was a vampire and still alive. When she was found dead dead, he decided he didn't want it.
Sage got him to start feeding more, "acting like a vampire". After that, he turned and fed whoever, but he wasn't terrible by how he was when he and Stefan reunited in the late- 40s, shortly after that he was captured by Augustine and shut off his humanity.
Damon wanted to be a vampire to be with Katherine, when he thought she was dead he no longer wanted to be a vampire, he chose to die, Stefan forced him to become a vampire. Season 1
because damon is a stupid retard, but someone anyhow always wants to save him and other similar *beep* he even GETS the girl, even tho he's done nothing good in his entire life. even as a human, he wanted his brother's girl...
I mean seriously, would anyone in real life want him as a friend or anything? I don't think so.
Well they're rubbing it in that Elena belongs to Damon bc he saw her 5 minutes earlier than Stefan . I doubt the new writers know who Katherine was and that Damon hated Stefan bc she loved them both. That story is so season 1 (or 2).
________ "Art is magic delivered from the lie of being truth"
Katherine was an evil vamp who could have saved her daughter but chose not to.Who cares? What's the obsession with that selfish bitch? Damon and Stefan were her victims.
Btw, Stefan never really loved Elena, if he did he would thank Damon for saving her life .How many times? Oh, yea, for making her happy, the most real thing she ever felt. For the new writers, just in case they didn't know.
This episode was the only one where Damon has ever really blamed Stefan for it. In Blood Brothers he flat out tells Stefan that he was pissed because Katherine turned them both, he was never mad at Stefan for forcing him to turn. He told Stefan that Stefan didn't get to own his guilt.
The only reason he blamed him this episode was because he knew it would get to Stefan. He's trying to drive him away so he doesn't get hurt, much like Stefan did when he teamed up with Klaus. He doesn't actually blame him.
Its something you'll get used to a mental mind *beep* can be nice!
It could very well turn out to be a scare tactic or pushing Stefan away tactic but I read a deeper meaning into what Damon was saying. All his ramblings about hell and brimstones, the devil etc wasn't random, it's what Damon believes right now. He said something like he was doomed the minute he was turned and no matter what he does to atone there is no redemption for what he has done and the decisions he has made in the past. Humanity can't save him because there is no hope for redemption. He recognises now that any chance of redemption was lost when he lost his humanity in 1864 and for that he blames Stefan. He is also under the thrall of the siren that can make him believe whatever she wants him to believe but his sub-conscious is clearly holding onto hope. It's only going to get worse for him and Enzo because the Siren wants complete obedience.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.
He brought up his Hell talk with saying "every bad decision I've ever made, every body I've ever drained" he's talking about his sins, even when talking to the painter he says "it takes one bad day, and when the Devil comes a calling, you're done". I thinks he's still slightly in control of his actions, I don't think he'd of killed Bonnie or Stefan in the slaughterhouse. I think he's conning Sybil until the ring moment, anyone not in his circle be damned though.
It's who Damon is and it's basically why I hate him. He also blames Katherine for everything. I remember her last episode and how Damon essentially blamed her for his evil.
He's such a pathetic vampire. Guy needs to own the f-ck up to his own personality and flaws, stop acting like Elena is his sole motive in life, and stop blaming others for when he thinks he's too "evil" for Elena. It's ridiculous.
