Can someone please explain to me why Caroline is such a hot commodity?

There's no one character in this show that I have any strong feelings for (negative or positive) because I think they all have their moments. Caroline has great qualities but in what world is she appealing to almost every guy on this show?! The reason I hate it is because with each passing relationship she seems more and more like someone's plan B. When she dated Matt - totally made sense, cute HS relationships. When she dated Tyler - I loved it and thought he made a perfect first love. Then I started to run out of juice for her relationships. If anyone is keeping score I think she should end up with Klaus but I don't know how popular an opinion that is. With Stefan it just seems like he grew fond of her because they'd been through so much together and he's pretty lonely. I just can't see when he supposedly fell in love with her. It doesn't seem like they are each other's great loves so I'm not a huge fan of them ending up together.

Does anyone agree at all or am I alone on this? I'd love to hear from people who think she should end up with someone else because I think I have tunnel vision with her and Klaus (and I don't watch TO) so I've never really opened my mind regarding her and anyone else and, instead, it just annoys me every time she gets a new match.

To be fair, I understood why she was a "hot commodity" with Tyler and even Klaus. Caroline was at her prime from season 2-4 (actually, she was fine up until she lost her mother, I'd say).

She was a control-freak who was deeply loyal, organized, anxious, loving, and who always tried really hard.

It made sense that Tyler loved her, because she was there for him when he was at his worse and she never gave up. Klaus, I also understood...somewhat? because Caroline was different from Elena, the Mary Sue. Then of course, Klaus has been around for centuries so it's hard to believe he only found someone worth pursuing with Caroline.

Matt, I never bought as having loved Caroline.

But now, I don't get it. Stefan adored Caroline as his friend. As his best friend, even. But as the love of his life? They barely share the friendship they used to have at this point.

A rose is just a rose.

I'm with you 500%. Since Elena was never actually INTO Matt, it was really fine for Caroline to give him a go. If anything, it was more about her own frustrations, with how hung-up on Elena he still was. Although, her snit-fit on double date night was pretty unwarranted, she shouldn't have gone for him if she was unwilling to accept the reality of feelings that were quite frankly, not her's to have a say in (since SHE encroached on them).

And THAT, with Caroline, is a running theme. Her and Tyler? PERFECTION. And ALL her's. Klaroline? Also all her's and potentially an epic dark horse. But as much as I love her, there's behavior that I straight-up LOATHE. Like the way she tattles of her friends and how she passive-aggressively shares information *That Isn't Her's To Share.* Telling Stefan that Elena was at the lake house with Damon? NOT OK. Telling Stefan Elena was sleeping with him -after PROMISING not to?!? NOT *beep* OK.

All of her judginess re: Delena, that's at least partially excusable. After all, we know how things went for her after she innocently brought Damon home. But in the world of the show, where pretty seriously dark *beep* is somewhat acceptable, she bore a pretty hard grudge. Especially since everyone was pretty much friends by the time Delena rolled around. By then, Damon was pretty good to her...

I think other than the tattling, the thing that got my goat above all else, was Caroline's behavior at her dad's cabin (season 5) when she thought "something" could be rekindling Btwn Stelena. That was for me, the biggest, "where in the HELL do you get off?!?!?" moment. Stefan had ZEROZILTCH romantic feelings for Caroline back then. He hasn't even CONSIDERED a romance (as later exparted to Lexi). Elena was constantly being twice the friend to Caroline than she was to her and despite what a *beep* she may have been to Stefan, what they had was still EXCLUSIVELY their own. They both *allowed* Caroline into their world. So for her to start getting all territorial and jealous, I felt like she got off without barely even a warning.

Personally I find both Caroline and Elena to be lame duck characters. In real life Kathrine and Bonnie would've been more sought after by actual men.

The boring good girl personality and that stepford personality don't really turn too many guys on.

Most young guys like girls with some bite to them and maybe even a little crazy. Elena and Caroline have neither of those things. They basically just do whatever it takes to appease a guy they're with.

I think that's why there aren't very many male fans of this show in the first place compared to shows like Buffy that had flawed female leads.

Putting looks aside (as Bonnie is gorgeous as are the others), no man would be interested in Bonnie. She has done nothing with her life, makes stupid decisions and is icncredibly self righteous, hypocritical and has no moral compass. Elena is vapid and selfish but at least she was attempting to be a doctor. Caroline is the only one who has done anything with her life. Ambition and intelligence are attractive.

I used to like her but now I find her overrated and overexposed.

Klaroline didn't have the kind of relationship that would warrant an endgame. Caroline didn't express anything close to love towards Klaus and it's even a stretch to say they had a friendship. If a pairing should be endgame there should be more emotions behind it to back it up and not just that they have hot chemistry IMO.

The relationship she had that was actually written as a potential endgame was with Tyler but then they screwed that up and that means we're left with Steroline where Stefan acts like he is dead inside.

the show is ending so they have to pair up these characters even if it doesn't make a lick of sense. look at Bon Bon and Enzo....makes no sense whatsoever. Bonnie would NEVER fall for psycho like him. Does Enzo even have friends besides Damon? Even their frienship is forced and makes no sense.

Hah. This is a good way to describe Stefan lately. I feel like the director (s) is dropping the ball a bit with these 2.

Just thought the exact same thing, when this all started with Caroline, or better her pushing towards Stefan, my reaction was hell no! Funny enough the writers made Stefan pie her off which was perfect. But now it's like a bad joke...after this last episode I really can't believe it, there is absolutely no chemistry between them whatsoever, if this is Stefans Happy Ever After, my condolences.

If she must have a man i'd rather have her back with Alaric, but then again why can't she be just single and exist on her own? She did enough bed hopping by now (not slut shaming, just an oberservation). Isn't it sad that there always has to be this big romance, why can't she find her happiness in something else. She has kids now or/ and maybe in her job or whatever.

At this point im hoping for a 180 twist of things. They did such a great job building up Bonnie & Enzo. They have heaps of Chemistry, never thought it possible that they could make a more sizzling romance then the Damon, (Katherine), Elena & Stefan one, but they did. These scenes with Bonnie and Enzo were Gold. Bonnie was always a bit on the backburner until recently, dating Elena's small brother was meh. Then she was always in some trouble dying or cast away in Purgatory with (Damon), I was afraid that they might be going there, but I'm so glad they didn't they are great Frenemies.

Im purely watching for the Bonnie & Enzo Story now, I like Stefan but if he is now with Caroline then it's a bore. Caroline has always been a bore, she is there but I don't care for her, same goes for Elena, was happy to hear she left the show. Except now Caroline took Elena's place, at least for now. Not quite sure how I feel about her still being there sleeping and basically waken up when Bonnie dies, why not make a clean break. Oh well, will keep watching until I can't bare to, I guess.
