shareIt's his fault because Sarah would've never been involved in the supernatural or his memory period had he not sought her out. He didn't have some obligated right to know her, himself or for Damon.
Sybil being released is his fault, he brought Rayna back which jump started everything to do with the Armory.
Too tough on him? He hasn't took an ounce of responsibility for anything since he's been on the show. Not Aaron, Ripper Damon, Monigue, Ivy, Sarah, Choosing the Heretics, releasing Rayna, giving Bonnie those pills.
And why couldn't he think of Lily or Maggie? Women who he had actually been in love with and who weren't vulnerable humans that could be easily killed. Who weren't alive, even?
shareThat was also 3-4 years ago when he was "villainy". You can see that Enzo has changed and just bc the writers stupidly haven't spent time having him do the apology tour doesn't change that fact. The only reason Stefan and Bonnie were able to find Enzo and Damon is bc he's the only one that's been proactive about it which also resulted in Sarah's death.
Also, Damon killed Aaron. That was his choice regardless if Enzo was egging it on or not. Let's be real here Enzo has had the worst life on the show. Abandoned by his family, lost his first love and was a prisoner/ tortured for 70 years and now is under mind control being forced to kill people. The fact that he's on the good guy team now is astonishing.
He hasn't made one apology, not even to Damon which is ridiculous, it makes Caroline, Bonnie, Damon, Matt, and Especially Stefan all look stupid for even putting up with Enzo let alone trying to save him.
I don't care what kind of life he's had, he's still given no reason as to why this group of people deal with him, the only one who should (kind of) is Damon for leaving him. And that should only go so far, for what Enzo's done to him.

shareI agree, he should've made apologies and that's definitely the writers fault. They drop the ball with Enzo quite often. I'm not sure what you mean "deal with him". Like why the group lets him hang around after all he's done? I mean, they deal with him bc of Bonnie. Bonnie realizes early on in the search that she's the main advocate for Enzo. Everyone else is clearly more concerned with what happens to Damon.
We started this discussion bc you said it was Enzo's fault that Sarah was dead. There's always a chain of people that could take blame for any number of bad things that go on in this show . Elena being in a coffin right now can be blamed on Bonnie, Damon, Lily, Enzo and Kai. But I don't blame Bonnie, Damon or Enzo bc their actions weren''t to hurt Elena, Lily and Kai's were. The same with Sarah's death. Enzo was apart of what happened to her but I don't blame him bc it was Sybil's doing. The last scene Enzo and Sarah had in S6 he releases her and goes to compel her to disappear to a nice place but she asks him not to. He counters saying "but you'll be safe". He ends up doing as she wishes with a promise that she won't seek out the Salvatores. 8x02 he actively tries to save her until Bonnie went rogue and vervained him. Enzo cared about what happened to her.
Okay, yes Bonnie is the reason, you know what the group owes her that, even though it makes no sense why Bonnie has looked past what he's done.
It's still his fault for Sarah, he (him only) is the sole reason why she was anywhere near this situation, had he not had his dumb revenge fantasy in S6, she'd be alive.
I notice that the male characters past/child hoods/manpain are used to explain away their actions, but never the actions of the women characters. A male character's past is used to explain empathy and sympathy for him, but the women characters never get the same benefit. Especially if they are seen as doing one of the fave male characters "wrong"

We're all on our way out, act accordingly.
It's a sad state of affairs now. Stefan used to be my most consistently favorite, and I stopped liking him around three seasons ago, and now it's come to a point where sometimes I'm outright annoyed with him.
Caroline became my favorite for a few seasons in the middle. Now I can't stand her whatsoever.
Bonnie is the only person I find tolerable tbh, and I was never ever a fan of Bonnie for the first six or so seasons.
Damon...well I've always hated him but he was at his best last season, when he seemed to have *some* sort of guilty conscience or at least, he was saying the right things for once in his life.
