SPOILER QUESTION
Why did the producers bring back Tyler only to have Damon kill him at the end of the last episode aired. Or maybe he didn't?

shareThere was an interview, since it is the last season they're trying to bring a lot of former characters back. Liz Forbes was also there.

Unless they changed things, Ty's not yet dead. 1. Never assume a death without a body. We saw him get drained, but he's a wolf- he heals. Damon didn't break his neck, rip out his heart or do anything else onscreen that would make it impossible for him to survive.
2. Tyler has info about the Armory that no one else knows. He's supposed to at least share it, if not team up with Ric. If his death wasn't just to give Michael one last cameo, assume he makes it for the long haul. There's zero reason for Tyler to die. It's highly unlikely to hit any great dramatic points or advance any plot. Not anymore. Not with so little left. And not unless Julie is hell-bent on ruining all lives/making it a tragedy by final curtains.
Liv gave him her life so he could have one. And he's had such a rough go, like Matt. Plus they're good guys. It would be nice to see them end on a high note...regardless of any time jumps there may be if Nina's reviving Elena. ANOTHER SPOILER:
There's apparently truth to the ever persistent Katherine rumors. But again, comes down to Nina. I know she'd rather just do Katherine, but if she really only has/will make time for ONE, she knows how cruel it would be to fans and to (Julie and Kevin) to not make it Elena. -and I DON'T mean Delena. I realize a huge part of the problem is that Ian can't seem to stop telling to world how much he detests Delena and how he doesn't "approve" of Nina coming back. So of course, even if she was OK with it before, Nina's not going to be comfortable enough to shoot Delena now. And unlike Ian, *beep* really Is COMPLETELY up to her. She has the power to agree to come back only under conditions of her design. Which is exactly what's been taking so long (in getting confirmations).
That said, Spoiler Three:
Expect the unexpected, when you least expect it ;-)
