Your official thoughts for 'Coming Home Was a Mistake'

8x05 SPOILERS

I liked this episodes pace and that we had the storyline moving a lot. Not so much the non-character development though.

So, let me just state that Tyler being this overwhelming death was a mistake. If you wanted shock factor like this and actually made sense to hurt the gang it should've been Matt.

Caroline not being Completely shredded over Tyler being killed was just as bad Elena looking careless upon seeing Stefan's dead body.

It was cool to see Stefan cares about Tyler, but that scene over the coffin should've been Caroline.

I kind of buy Alarics word about Tyler being "one of them" and kinda don't, I mean, he wasn't even included in all the plots and schemes until Season 5 right?

Sybil's "regular" look was so damn sexy.

Pretty tired of all these interns at The Armory.

Sorry Malarkey, but you've officially handled the transition to no humanity acting wise terribly, bout as bad as Candice. Funny thing was, this was how he acted with humanity until halfway through S7.

There was a little too much Steroline this episode.

So if Matts father how no point in the story why did we bring him in?

God, I can't believe I'm going to say this, I liked Bonnie and Enzo in this episode. Like at least when he turns his humanity back on and they save eachother. Although Bonnnie was way too extreme there.

"I'm your brother and I love you" "come home with me" I was struggling man.

Damon not being dessicated is kind of dissapointing.

Rewinding real quick, I loved Damon showing up to the funeral and telling them hell bury them all, and Alaric realizing he was different.

The twins are missing, be honest did any of us not see it coming though?

I loved the carnival, the mentions of Stefan and Elena's talk, Stefan and Caroline's first real moment as friends, and everyone's words about Tyler, especailly how Caroline dissaproved Klaus' words. HOWEVER WHY TF WAS ENZO THERE.

I'm still sturggling with this cause it makes no sense, why are he and Stefan buds?

Wtf was Enzo talking about Tyler's darkness? HAVE THEY EVEN MET? Jesus.

Anyway, it's a solid 8.5/10 for me. Bring on this shows return in two weeks.

Not my favorite episode this season. Damon was all over the place.
On the plus side Caroline was back and she's my favorite after Anna, Rebekah and Katherine left.
So the kids like to set stuff on fire, I hope they come back to that.
The suspense build up about the Selene reveal was nicely done.
This was the first time I wasn't rooting for Enzo to die. Bonnie had enough hardship.
Of course Damon had a nicer coffin than Tyler. And I agree, killing off Matt would have made a better impact.

Yeah, the impact is so lose because Alaric has had like 3-4 scenes with Tyler, I'm trying to count off my head and I can only literally think of two between Bonnie and Tyler, hell, Stefan and Tyler have had like 5 scenes I think.

best of season 8 so far

I didn't buy that anyone actually cared that Tyler died other than Matt. And Matt seemed like he was the only one that really hated Damon. Everyone else just seemed annoyed, which makes his death kind of pointless since it was supposed to push everyone away from Damon.

I did like how they brought back the Carnival in the episode. Also the message was good, in the midst of grief don't forget to live, also that you never know among your friends who might go so appreciate them and your time with them.

I wonder what Seline is planning with the twins, and why Sybil is so obsessed with Damon but I could be on Cade's order. On the note I am glad Cade is here.

The world is quiet here.
