Why is Sybil so determined to hang on to Damon?

Like Damon said "What do you want from me?"

Damon says he technically has freewill, but yet he feels compelled to do what Sybil would want regardless. Someone on another thread likened that to the sire bond but obviously it isn't that so like Damon I want to know why she still has such a hold over him.

Is it because she changed his memories? like she said, it will only take her so far.
Does she need Damon to get to Stefan? Is Stefan the goal? I'm not sure because she has already had Stefan in her thrall and she let him go, however, something Damon said in the first episode is niggling at me. He said to Stefan "Go, it doesn't want you yet"
I think Stefan is Cades target, and he wasn't "needed" until he was corporeal. The nanny has somehow brought him to MF and I think we will see that Damon was a conduit to Stefan.

Damon feels compelled to do what Sybil would want because Sybil replaced Elena in Damons subconscious, he tried to do what Elena would have wanted since they met she was his moral compass.
I think Sybil wants Stefan to kill Cade, and I think the object she had Damon take from Matt's Dad has something to do with that.
Guessing Damon is Stefans pressure point, but why Stefan?
Also, the sisters seem to have different agendas, Sybil wants to kill Cade, but Seline seems to worship him.

We're all on our way out, act accordingly.

Thanks.
It's all so convoluted and confusing. I guess that's why i'm losing interest in this plot.
I am guessing that this story will turn out to be all about Stefan somehow and Damon was just a plot device to get the story there.

I hope not! And I don't think so,the story is supposed to be about both brothers, the similarities between the brothers and the siren sisters run pretty closely one forcing the other to survive , cannibalism, vampirism...
It is pretty confusing though, I think it's coming to a final showdown, but I think all of the characters will die before it's over, But Most of them have died and come back before so I'm not worried about that!
One thing to think about, Damon mentioned Matt being the last living human boy from Mystic Falls, Elena seems to be the last living girl, hmmmmm, wonder where that's going.

I think you are right. Sybil wants to escape from Case, and Seline worship him . However that could be due to Seline being a true siren, and Sybill (was she supposed to be a sacrifice?) being a village girl who was trick into believing that she was a siren. Sybil was abandoned on that island and led to believe her powers were evil. Siren saved her. So she feels obligated to Seline.

I think Seline wants the twins to free Cade, while Sybil wants Stefan to free her from Cade . Damon will likely go to hell (although I don't think it's hell )

and Stefan will do everything he can to save him. Sybil knows this.

Maybe Sybil wants someone to replace Cade, Stefan?
And sacrifice Damon in the process or vice versa?
