Applesauce penguin, brother.

Maybe I am just out of touch with VD lingo, but what does it mean.

reply

Damon couldn't tell Stefan his plan because Sybil can't let him physically speak out, so it comes out as that, it's a scene from earlier in the episode.

reply

This. But I can kind of see it ultimately relating back to the twins somehow.

reply

Ahhh, good catch, I didn't think about them.

reply

What, who are the twins?

reply

Caroline and Rics (Jo biological) daughters. The siphoners.

reply

Really? How come?

Which would be worse - to live as a monster, or to die as a good man? ๎—

reply

It could be nothing. It could also be a mash of "apocalypse". But when I heard "applesauce penguin" I thought of all the little kids I know who say nonsense things and like applesauce. So then I thought, "ohh the twins". Just because they seem to be involved in this somehow. But it's probably a longshot.

reply

Wow, I would have never made that connection. If this turns out to be true, good *beep* catch.

Question is why would I have googled that in the first place?

reply

Because it's a mystery, like you.

Hahaha! I replayed that four times before giving up. I definitely heard the "applesauce" but couldn't even decipher the second word. "Applesauce penguin" works for me-- great alterna song title?!

As someone who is very much IN-touch with the TVD world, I can make NO sense of it...other than Ian garbled a line(???). I have noticed him adopting a much softer way of delivering this season, I presume it's a choice to go with Damon's defeatist attitude.

reply

Yeah the siren made it so that Damon cannot even formulate the words in his mouth when he tries to tell another person about her plan. He explained this to Stephan earlier in the episode by saying that "applesauce penguin" is what his words sounds like. I think "applesauce penguin" may be how linguists describe gibberish.

Maybe it's an anagram. Maybe rearranging the letters will reveal something.

reply

Applesauce penguin, may refer to Marry Poppins, the Nanny, dancing penguins.
Haven't watched the whole move so, applesauce is still in question.
