Just wondering, when they transferred the final life of the huntress in S7 to Bonnie it made sense that she lost her magic. Wouldn't that also have broken the curse linking Bonnie and Elena though, because Bonnie technically died? Or can someone explain?

No, because the curse has no loopholes. Bonnie's life has to end permanently for Elena's to begin & any attempt to deliberately circumvent that would lead to both women dying. As using the huntress's life to save Bonnie's wasn't intended to cheat and bring Elena back to life, the Curse did not kill either woman.

Bonnie almost died, but before she did her life was renewed with Rayna's last life, so no, she never died.
As far as her magic, loss of, can't explain that.
Could be that she doesn't want it back because it has always put her in danger and made her responsible for everyone else.

The reason why Bonnie doesn't have her magic is likely due to Bonnie life being renewed with "Rayna's life". Since Rayna didn't have witch powers,Bonnie no longer have them . Or it could be due to the pills Enzo was giving her to suppress her powers.

When Bonnie was the anchor she had no magic because she was a different type of supernatural being. When she became mortal again, it took a while for her to find her magic. As the Huntress she was immune to magic and became a another supernatural being. Now human once again she needs to find herself and her powers. Its a mental thing. Hope she gets them back soon and kick Sybil's ass.
