The cliffhanger is definitley Stefan and Damon joining Cade no matter what, no other hanging plots as of now, jump two years. Not only do the shows sync, but you can reset the characters changing their lives without Stefan and Damon, and in turn, Stefan and Damon can reign Hell (literally) on the world for two years.

After what just happened to the ratings of the Supergirl & Co. crossover, I'm guessing we will have another one here, too. And not only Matt. So I'm guessing the time jump syncs both shows again.

I hope so, however the only ones to really crossover would be Vincent, Marcel, or Hayley. Since Klaus and co. Are locked up.
