Wow! The Last Season Is Turning Out To Be The Most Boring!

Not sure why the cast was so excited about this season. It's the most boring of all of them. The Sirens are perhaps the most boring of enemies. The whole set up of her being imprisoned was far scarier when we didn't know anything about her or why she was there. I don't think at this point the writers/creators/cast, let alone the viewers, are going to e satisfied that the show ends like this.

They are excited because they are finally free of Julie Plec and how *beep* of a writer and show runner she is.

reply

Nina was the smartest one to run away from shame

reply

She really was. I hope she is very successful.

reply

If she isn't than it's totally messed up lol but she has nothing to lose, TVD is at the bottom, so she would either drown with everyone or drown on her own with her solo career....guess we'll just have to wait and see

reply

I'm liking it! Tonight's ep, best so far👍

We're all on our way out, act accordingly.

Watching Damon get shot and staked to death by people he regarded as his allies was gratifying. Of course, it would happen at a point in time when he's immortal but still... Immensely Gratifying. 😎

reply

Also amusing it happens to him by the man whose kids he just saved, granted for selfish reasons but still without Damon those twins would be gone.

Don't you love this show Damon kills god knows how many innocents for no reason mostly for giggles and nothing, saves a pair of kids get's killed for it by his besty, no wonder Damon acts like a dick, more longevity in it.

Damon is consistently punished in this story during moments when he is most faultless/innocent/ close to noble. It is the show's way of white-washing the actual times when he is guilty / responsible for chaos. There were a million of times when Matt would have been justified in shooting Damon with wooden bullets - from the season when he found out that Damon murdered Vicky to the last episode, when Damon murdered Tyler then attacked him (Matt) at Tyler's funeral. But, of course, the show chooses to have Matt murder Damon after he just saved two innocent little girls. It is done deliberately, because if the characters were actually allowed to react to Damon appropriately, he should have been dead before the 2nd season. So they do the narrative protects him by having his allies turn on him at his most innocent but ignore his most heinous actions.

This is so so true. I never really put it together like that.

Sickening, isn't it?

They always praise the season, the actors do and then it's a crap show from start to finish. I think they are happy this is ending and each can move on. I feel the Sirens would be a better story if they had stronger actresses in the role, but the CW doesn't really care as long as you look good reciting lines.

This season lost me after episode 3. I don't see a point in watching it regularly if I don't find it's going to be satisfying on some level.

Don't come for me unless I send for you.

This is one of the cases where actors will like the implications for honing their craft. Stories of redemption they might see as an interesting story to act even if it isnt good for us viewers.

reply

This season is actually pretty great so far. Much more consistent than the last season for sure.

Dark Stefan, may I have this dance?

reply

They killed him because Damon killed Tyler..I don't think it had anything to do with the girls..they knew Damon didn't take them.. Before Alaric staked him he said "this is for Tyler".
Fyi wasn't Tyler hunting vamps with Jeremy..?I'm surprised we havnet seen him yet considering his friend just died.

reply

Agreed. I am so disgruntled with what's happened to the show over the past few seasons. I can just hope that maybe a few of the cast members will hop over to The Originals and get good storylines.

reply

I agree, I would love to see my favourite few abandon Mystic Falls and head down to New Orleans. Caroline, even though I've never been a huge fan of her character and have found her to be fickle at best in the last few seasons, is one in particular I really want to see going to New Orleans.

It seems like the show has been purposely written into the ground almost methodically, ever since they started taking out key characters and the backdrop of Mystic Falls: Elena and Jeremy's home being burnt down, every time someone has a significant attachment to someone else, it gets ripped away and replaced with pointless 'villains'. Don't get me wrong, obstacles are always needed to keep things interesting. The best villains always have been the Originals.

I just don't understand how they seem to have purposely set out to destroy what was for 4 - 5 years the most awesome series I've ever followed.

Last season was the most boring but this year hasn't been much better so far. I was really excited for this season because I thought this being the last season, it would be really good since they could go all out. Disappointed so far. Mainly with Damon's storyline.
