Anybody else think it has been 5 steps forward 10 steps back for Damon?
This season should really have been about his Brother bonding with Stefan, and that in the end it’s not Elena that saves him but Stefan. I hope they start making changes in his character because at the moment in my opinion any character development Damon has had over the past 7 seasons is being made irrelevant.
Also Ricks actions have been completely out of character and don’t get me started on how Tyler was treated.

There has been no character development or regression for Damon this season because he has been a puppet/plot device.

Stefan will never be able to save Damon, he does not know how, he never did because he doesn't understand him. Anyway, it's looking like Stefan is going to be the one who needs saving next.

You cant think of it in terms of character progression or regression because largely everything done this season has been under the influence of mind control. It osnt really "him" persay making those actions. Stefan, on the other hand, will technically be operating from free choice just as his ripper self.

Well Stefan has turned off his humanity now in preparation for what he is about to do over the next year. He needs to be emotionless to carry out the deal he made with Cade, which is to corrupt innocents and deliver their souls to Cade.
