Think about it. He was a little too pissed about the being left in a fire thing. Then he keeps falling for girls that have strong ties to Damon:
Lily - Damon's mother
Sarah - Damon's niece
Bonnie - Damon's best friend
If I didn't know any better, I'd say these women were all placeholders for Damon and deep down, that is who he really wants to be with.
Seems like he's more of a brother than a lover.

So funny because he obsesses and attaches himself with everything that Damon is connected to. First wanting revenge on Stefan, then there was him wanting to win over Lily's heart. Then he was going on and on to Bonnie about how he wanted what she had with Damon, until he was finally able to get with her.
Does look like something is going on when he attaches himself to all those close in Damon's life. lol

Oh god in Season 5 I agree, he acted like Damons long lost ex, I actually thought that was going to be some sort of reveal in 5x19. I'm actually glad cause I feel the Delena stans would've boycotted the show if Damon actually got in a Elena/Enzo love triangle lol.
