If stefan can move on from Elena, why can't Damon?

I'm pretty sure stefan was in love with Elena as much as Damon is now. But why can't Damon move on?

Stefan HAD to move on bc Elena fell out of love with him and chose Damon. Elena and Damon are still in love with eachother and want to have a future together.

Exactly. People are acting like Elena died or dumped him.
Damon is not fickle like Stefan. When he loves he loves with everything he has.

That is actually consistent for D. Season 1 was about Damon getting Katherine back after waiting 140+ years and now he's doing 60+ years for the inferior Katherine knock off.

Thank you, someone who actually looks to the show for the answer. People keep talking about him moving on but its completely out of character for him to do so. He waited 100 plus years for a woman that toyed with him and slept with his brother. He can wait just half of that for the woman he's willing to become a human for.

Because Damon's love is obsessive and wildly co-dependent, so he'll cling to the woman he was with as long as he can.

Nope, that's why he has tried to let her go more than once or twice, "I Love you Elena, enough to let you go."

Yep, that's why he's never succeeded in letting her go. Or changed his mind about it five minutes later. Nothing he's done has been able to convince me otherwise.
