Why this series is ending when TV shows like Law and Order SVU is on its 18th season.
I love a good supernatural show and am sad this is ending.
Still, Grimm and The Originals are back soon and Supernatural is still on.
Hopefully there will be a good new supernatural show to replace TVD.
Honestly, this show should've ended when Nina opted out. These writers are incapable of writing anything even remotely fresh. Since season 5, it seems like they're rehashing the same storylines over and over again.

This show should have ended in season 3 with Elena's death, really. Because everything after that has been crap.
shareI blame the showrunners and the writing. TVD was once the biggest show on the CW with a lot of attention in the media, but lost viewers every year. Unlike Supernatural, a show somehow able to keep the viewership interested.
Examples: Keeping the OTP together for five years is boring, same is giving death almost no impact, almost everybody comes back.

I loved the vampires diaries,and I surly will miss it when it goes off the air. However, the show should have ended a long time ago. When they started to rewrite what we have known about the characters. Like Damon blaming Katherine for Viki's death . Damon owned up to everything he did back in season 3, now he wants to blame Katherine?? Damon claiming he was never in love with Kat/or was compelled. Damon stated that Katherine never compelled him and insist that his love for Katherine was real in season 2. Katherine trying to kill Damon. Katherine know that Damon is Stefan salvation. Which is why she told Stefan to stop Damon from killing Klaus in season 3. Plus Katherine,and Damon were good in season 3, so why the sudden hatreds for one another in season 5 ?
I will miss the show, but the characters start to change so much it like the writers no longer wanted to write for them.
This is Grimm's last season, and it just might be the last season of the Originals. Both are my favorite shows. I really hope they renewed the Originals.
