Had watched up until Season 6, is S7 worth watching or just go with S8?

Season 7 was fun to watch because they told the story very differently from the past seasons with flash forwards as opposed to flashbacks and that was cool.. confusing at times but that's what kept you on the edge of your seat. Plus we got to see some other parts of Stefan and Damon's live before meeting Katherine.
The story itself had it's interesting moments but some say it was honestly inferior to season 6 or a couple others.
I'd watch it though because I liked it especially the second half and honestly think it was kinda better than season 8 is right now...

So for me it's a yes... lol

Season 7 is absolutely watchable. The focus on family, especially the Salvatore's background and the fallout of a huge time jump makes for interesting story arcs, including surprising twists. Plus they revisit some old relationships we haven't seen since season 4/5.

In my opinion 7 is the worst season (8 is in the running). It's the only season that I haven't rewatched, and I barely paid attention to the episodes as they aired. I will say, the supporting characters they brought on were pretty good (if not a bit wasted). I would probably watch it, bt I would be multitasking...

Season 7 is integral to the storyline, ultimate outcome of the series. The writers are setting up the end with that season, if you want to understand the ending of the series, you should watch S7.

Yes, there's a classic TVD episode on there, and it's integral to know what you're going to see and will help you enjoy S8.

After not caring for S5 and S6, I really liked S7 and like S8 so far
