His rudness about her is proof enough.Nina said nothing but nice things about him.No one wants him to be stuck on the relationship.Nina left him because she didn't want to settle down . She knew he wanted to so no, she never got bothered by him moving on.
Actually ,after leaving him, she moved on without looking back and looked happier than ever.And she sure never tried to mix whatever personal issue she may or not have with him, with their characters story. And Nina stated clearly that she was happy for him.He's the only one showing bitterness.
Nina fans couldn't care less about what he does with his love life.But some don't like him anymore because of his unjustified rudness towards Nina.He's bitter not because he's not over her, but because his huge ego got hurt when she left him. That's it.
Medias still try desperatly to make him look like he's so unforgettable that Nina still hasn't moved on, never mind that she had moved on before he did, and had been dating and enjoying her life without looking back.
If he's over her,secure in his marriage, and professional,he shouldn't care if she comes back or not, and should be able to give Delena happy ending with no problem. Amazing how before he got with Nikki, they were still friends, Nikki gets in,he becomes rude with Nina,likes a picture of her in underwear then completly unfollows her.His behavior is for the least childish.

He is happy in his marriage. And a lot of people can be currently happy where they are in their life and not want to be dealing with their exes for different reasons.
My point is that some have said that Nina left because of her being bothered by his marriage with Nikki and that she won't come back because of his marriage with Nikki. At this point it's all speculation and rumors created just like with those saying that Ian is "bitter". Nina just avoids talking about TVD all together and you can guarantee that if it turns out that she doesn't come back that Some will say that it's because she is bitter over Ian and doesn't want to work with him.
Fans and websites spread rumors about Nina after the break up being upset about Nikki being on the set. Tabloids have said that Nina was upset over Nikki. SOme Nina fans believe this rumor to the point of attacking Nikki for coming on set.
Their proof of her being bitter will be in her not coming back, just like it is with some reading into Ian's interviews and saying that he is bitter over the break up. Ian doesn't even mention Nina;s name at all when he says that he doesn't like DE and people are making it about Nina.
It's then speculation that some have said that the reason that Nina left was because of the break up and not wanting to work with Ian anymore. Like it's speculation with no solid proof that Ian is bitter over the break up because some don't like how he talks about Nina. All the proof that some need over NIna's "bitterness" is the fact that she left TVD in the first place.
So, I guess if Nina decides not to come back and some turn on her and accuse her of not being professional and staying away because of Ian, then that's just as fair as some twisting everything that Ian does as him being bitter over Nina and some do want him stuck on Nina since they send him pictures of her saying things like "you could have this" or hinting something similar. That picture of Nina half nude they send to him because they want a reaction.

Nina avoids talking about tvd because she moved onto other things,and whenever she talks about Ian,she only says nice things.Unlike Ian who's rude.
Fans and websites spread rumors abut Nina bringing her new boyfriends onset and Ian being jealous too.So no proof for these stories. Fact is that these 2 filmed 2 seasons and won awards for their chemistry after their break up and Fact is that the whole cast had a 6 years contract.Nina simply decided to turn that page and not renew.
Ian doesn't have to say her name.Him contradicting himself,his words before the break up, and after the break up are very different,are enough.When we say he's bitter,it's not because of rumours,but because of his behavior in interviews when he talks about her.We don't need to make up anything.
Nina not coming would be because of her schedule.If she had nothing on her plate and still wouldn't come back,I would agree with you but fact is that she's a very busy lady.She's not stupid.She wouldn't let down her fans, break a promise she made, out of a so called bitterness that she never had or expressed.
No real Nina fan would want her back so those who send him those pics to him,are not real Nina fans.

It's you all reading into his body language and words in interviews that he is "bitter" over Nina and you making assumptions out of that. Ian has never stated that he is bitter over the break up or bothered by the break up like you claim Nina never expressed. And it's still the majority of Nina fans who say that he is bitter in his interviews.
Some so called Nina/DE fans have already stated that they would stop supporting her and would be upset with her if she didn't return for the series Finale.
It's double standards to say that Ian is bitter based off no proof other than how you read into his words and body language. But, want to ignore any rumors pointing to Nina being "bitter". If we can assume that Nina has no bitterness because she didn't express it, then we can assume that Ian has none because he didn't express it.
Ian can't move on and avoid questions because of people always asking him about Nina's plans to return and like Kat said only Nina herself can answer that because no one can speak for her or read her mind. But, some always ask Ian and Nina/DE Stans want him to answer like how they want him to answer and if he doesn't say what they want to hear, they call him bitter over the break up.

Rumours are one thing.Behavior and words speak for themselves.You see and hear it yourself. Ian could answer without the rudness.His rudness shows bitterness and if fans ask him, it's because as one of the producers,he knows.
Like you said,so called fans,those who go after Ian too. These are not her fans.
No it's not double standard. When Nina talks about him,no rudness.When he talks about her he's rude.Why? Because she's not bitter.He is.

And that's what U choose to believe it doesn't make it true. Ian has had to deal with questions about Nina way more than she has to deal with questions about him. The handful of times that Nina does, she just avoids the subject and says that she doesn't know. Most of the questions that Nina has had to have been asked has solely been focused on her return and herself while Ian has had to been asked about her all of the time.
Interviewers and fans need to stop asking the cast anyway and expecting them to know and speak for Nina and read Nina's mind. Especially when some say that Nina is keeping her return a secret or that it can't be spoken about, so if Nina herself isn't speaking on it why do some feel entitled for Ian and the rest to speak in it in a certain way, yet can give Nina a pass for avoiding the question and leaving it in the air for her fans.
How many times can a person be expected to deal with and answer the same questions over and over again, if they honestly and truly do not know? Like the cast doesn't know about Nina's plans. Constantly asked about it all of the time. And they really wouldn't know if NIna is keeping it to herself.
So, then I guess the cast is just suppose to say that they hope that Nina returns and that it's suppose to be their job to tell the fans what they want to hear while Nina can go around avoiding it and not answering and carrying NIna's burden of speaking to the fans. Like it's their job to be her spokesperson and to speak for another person.
They are not Nina and at the end of the day only Nina can answer, especially if some say that she is keeping the answer to herself and just among her JP and the Network. Acting like the cast knows every detail and plan of Nina's mind and what she plans on doing.
Nina hasn't been asked about Ian as much and she hasn't been asked to constantly speak for other actors on the show who have left and expected to know when they will return. She hasn't been asked about Steve McQueen or Chris Wood or any of the other popular actors that have left the show.
The cast is asked about her and expected to answer in a certain way or some Nina fans want them to speak for Nina or give them hope about Nina, when they can't and saying that they think that Nina will return without knowing NIna's mind will make it look like they are stringing fans along. That is what JP has been doing without knowing 100% of what Nina is going to do.
If they don't know they don't know and asking them to read Nina's mind, is like asking Nina to read her ex co workers minds to know what their next step is in their careers and attacking her if she doesn't ask in a certain way.
Ian doesn't talk about Nina like some want, he is called bitter.
Kat tells an interviewer that Nina is the one that needs to be asked about her return and some accuse her of being jealous of Nina.
The cast is accused of something when they don't answer in the way that Nina fans want.

Nina has been asked about him as much as he was about her. He can choose to avoid answering or answering without rudness, just like she does. He's rude only when he talks about her,showing his bitterness.
He is one of the producers so he knows more than the rest of the cast. The issue isn't wether he knows or not.The issue is the bitterness he puts in his answers and downplaying her part in the success of the show,so much that the cast had to remind him that the show wouldn't have been what it was without her.
You talk about her return, we're talking about everytime he talks about her,her characters, their character's story. No matter what the question about her is, he can answer without rudness.
No, no one is blaming the cast.We simply won't accept that her bitter ex downplays all her hard work, her huge part in the success of the show,wether she comes back or not.And more so if the rumor that he's the one trying to keep her from coming back to close Elena's story,pressuring JP and kevin

He's a producer of the show for a couple of episodes every season. He's doesn't produce the whole season or every episode. He doesn't know what's going on just because he is allowed to direct a couple of episodes every season doesn't mean that he knows when and if NIna is coming back or that he knows the details of her so called "secrets".
Nina has not been asked about him as much as he has been asked about her. She has only spoken a few times recently about her return to TVD and it's usually her avoiding the question or saying that she doesn't know about whether or not she is returning. Meanwhile compared Ian has been asked in interviews as well as asked all of the time when he goes to Cons, another thing that Nina avoids going to and having to deal with. Ian is asked way more.
Ya'll blame Ian and will believe a rumor that he doesn't want her to come back. Yet Nina left on her own free will, has said that she thought that Elena's story should end. If she saw TVD as worthy enough to stay then she would have stayed. If she sees it as worthy enough of coming back she will come back. All of the blame on Ian, when some can't accept that Nina wasn't interested enough in Elena/Delena's story enough to stick around and wanted to move onto better things.
NIna fans are still the only ones who call Ian bitter. Yet Ian is the one still acting out the Delena Scenes that they do give him to act out still. While Nina the one playing Elena's character has left her story behind (which is her right) because she decided to move on. Nina still avoids it all together and shows no interest in talking about Delena's story either.
Ian is the one left to try to act out all of the DE related scenes that are written, while Nina is off doing her thing ignoring and avoiding the answers that her fans want to hear from her. And there would be no more DE scenes at all without Ian carrying them.
Because of what Nina choose to do. How she choose to leave and how she choose to not to come back. And Ian and others get the blame for something that Nina choose to do of her free will. Nina may not care enough about Delena/Elena/TVD anymore period to return or speak much about the show anymore.

Do you even read before replying?
Nina gets asked as much as he does and he can respond without rudness like she does.But he's too bitter.Nina fulfilled her contract.Everyone had the same contract. The show should have ended with season 6. They wanted to go on? Fine.But you can't claim that Nina didn't care. She fulfilled her contract and promised to close Elena's story in the series finale.
Ian doesn't have any delena scene to act out.They're using old footage so try again.
They chose to extend a contract that said 6 years.They should have ended Elena story in season 6,like it was supposed to be.Especially since she had told them 2 years earlier that she wasn't renewing.Because of them,Elena's story still needs closure.They are in the wrong,not Nina.If they choose to keep going till season 20 despite of the initial 6 years committement, was she supposed to do it?they should have closed Elena's story in season 6 and have Damon move on.But they didn't,so she cared enough to promise to come back to close the story.

I have a feeling that Ian would still get bashed for not responding in a certain way and that some fans still have certain words and certain things that they want Ian to say about Nina's return. That either include him telling them that she is 100% returning or reassuring them about her return or him singing Nina's praises everytime he is asked about her in an interview.
They didn't want to end the show because of one person. Nina/Elena wasn't the only reason for why people choose to tune into the show and are people who watch for the other characters/actors more than the do for Elena/Nina.
But, yes Nina made the choice to leave and filled out her contract, which is why no one should act like she has a contract now to return to the show or that she owes it to anyone to return. Whether or not she has some "secret" about returning, fact is that she has made no recent guarantees about coming back and the fans are sitting themselves up for disappointment trying to act like Nina is keeping it undercover until the series Finale.
Some need to not act like they are entitled to her returning for them and don't take out their anger on the cast for Nina's decision.

Your feeling,not a fact.You're focused on him talking about Nina's return.I'm talking about his rudness talking about her in general.
They want to extend the show despite of the initial 6 years committement? Fine but don't try to blame Nina for them failing to close Elena's story on time despite a 2 years notice.Or claim that she doesn't care.She's not in the wrong,they are.
If her schedule allows it ,Nina won't break her promise or disappoint her fans.Oh and in an interview Nina said that her return depended on the producers.And the producers claim that it's up to her availibility,schedule.So it's clear they're keeping it secret.

I don't blame Nina for them not closing out Elena's story. They should have found a better way to do it other than leaving Elena in a coma/coffin for a ship. I still disagree that they are keeping it a secret and see no advantage to them keeping it a secret. They could let fans know ahead of time for sure and have what they think would be a good rated Finale with Nina fans tuning in or have some not watch the Finale at all because of not knowing if Nina is coming back.
And it's pretty much your feeling that Ian is bitter over the break up because of what you consider to be rudeness, yet nothing confirms this to be a fact. As I said before rumors have taken Nina's behavior or her actions and ran with it saying that she was bothered,bitter and jealous over Ian and his relationship with Nikki, and there have been people interacting with Nina who have claimed some of her behavior to be "rude". Nina has at times been accused of being rude or rude towards fans or in certain situations, just like you accuse Ian of being rude in his interviews.
