There is so much debate about who will live and who will die. Does it matter? Because those that take the cure and live, June weddings or whatever will still be left in a supernatural world. How is that ever going to be peaceful for any of them, especially those that are human, powerless, defenseless?

Looking at the bigger picture. It doesn't make sense that they would be happy in their present supernatural world.
It does make sense that they all leave it with the exception of Rick, only because others have said he will be in a supernatural world on TO.
Also, if Kai is really coming back it's a possibility that they could leave this world. Grams return also makes this more plausible.
Since Kai is the all powerful leader of the Gemini coven who is also half Luke and now presumably in hell, it seems that a world change is possible, peace for all? Maybe not Rick.

I feel like somewhere along the line, people forgot that it's a vampire show, not 'Little House on The Prairie'... If the ending is not tragic, I will be disappointed with the writers lack of creativity!
