The Enzo Spinoff

While I'm not Enzo's biggest (I'm actually barely a fan of the guy at all) fan, are people reallllllyyyyy that close minded to a spinoff? If anything it may redeem his poor writing throughout TVD.

I've been tweets and the reactions from these Twitter accounts all seem so..non thought out.

"What SL is there for Enzo? All he's got is Bonenezo?"

The Spinoff is what would help with that, giving him a storyline is what that show would do.

"Why would Enzo leave Bonnie?"

Why did Angel leave Buffy? P.S. I'd never compare cause they don't. But, yanno, example A

"Who would tune in to watch Enzo?"

Anyone that is hung up on TVD ending, anyone looking for a vampire fix (which could be a lot more whenever HBO starts up that Vampire series) anyone interested in watching a new show. Depending on how CW would promote.

"He's attached to the TVD characters, why would they screw that up?"

Screw up what? His only true connections are Damon and Bonnie, he shouldn't have developement with Stefan, Matt, or Alaric (his speech about Tyler was pityfully hilarious) Caroline should still hate him for S7. His ties to this show aren't THAT strong.

I'm open to any new ideas from TVD. If anything, they haven't dissapointed. Look at TO. It's still good, in fact, great IMO. But, the general consensus is its still entertaining. Look at the stories they created from that show using mostly just Klaus and Elijah as stepping stones. Imagine getting hath that potential in story from Enzo. He's not Joseph Morgan either, but he's improving.

I remember how many people HATED the idea of TO when it was announced in like February of 2013, people continously cried for 3 months until the backdoor pilot aired (and got picked up the next day btw) and proved everyone wrong. Now, I'm not including the psycho Klaroliners who boycotted that series before it even aired.

Point is, why can't we give this idea (yes, it's merely an idea) a chance? Why does everyone seem so quick to discount it? Nothing is even official yet, thoughts?

if the new spinoff is by the same writers and EP then why would anyone want to give them a chance considering what a mess they have made of TO in general?

BTW is this all speculation or you think that there will be another spinoff of vampires and (witches perhaps) because I read something about spinoff too and that too indicated something about Enzo?

Well it's speculation until somebody confirms something, if anything I thought him working for The Armory last year and the armory being introduced in general was going to be Spinoff material.

I think TO is still great, I think a certain death was pretty bold last year, and made for a great emotional hour of TV.

I'd trust they'd give me something with another spinoff.

I'm just dissapointed in how bad the idea was *beep* down on Twitter.

I'm not writing it off because I am a fan of Michael Malarkey and I have loved Enzo since he appeared in S5. IMO, Enzo was the best thing to come out of S5 but they dropped the ball with him in S6 because they had an inflated cast and Kai was also such a hit, but honestly what story could you tell with Enzo? His ancestry could be interesting but his actual life has been spent as a vampire that was incarcerated for 70 yrs and the rest we have already seen. Is anyone that interested in the origins of the Armory? Enough to create an entire spin off?

Enzo is a character that worked best with Damon. Their history and dynamic was very compelling and complex and deserved far more focus than we got. Now their relationship is almost non-existent which I think is a shame. Bonnie and Enzo is all very nice but it is now devolving into Stelena territory for me. Overblown love declarations, tepid kisses, disappearing when *beep* goes down (lake-house retreat and waterfall hikes i'm looking at you). Boring. There is no heat or drama to it anymore, they are just there playing exposition drones much like Stelena were.

Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.

Part of why I am so open to this is because of Malarkey, he's improved so much and I think he'd deserve a shot if given such an opportunity.

The stories are not so much about his ancestry but what he'd be doing in today's age, I mean TO focus' enough on the past, I think this one could be about the present, whatever they create for him I'm just open to. The Armory and his ancestry are just pluses at this point for extra story.

I haven't been a fan of him and Bonnie almost at all, the only thing Ive enjoyed is their acting. The entire relationship is unearned and has no real character development inside of it. Since 8x03 all this relationship has done is take Bonnie and Enzo out of any of the main plot.

I was a fan of Enzo in S5 and the beginning of S6. But, then he started to get lost in the shuffle, and he's never, (I mean EVER) gotten any consequences for his action towards Bonnie, Caroline, or the Salvatore brothers. I like his direction in S8, problem is, it wasn't developed in any way, he just acts "good" now.

Well the man is certainly watchable and he does have talent.

Yeah, I liked the idea and concept of Bonnie/Enzo and they do act well together but I agree that there isn't much substance to them.

That death was pretty bold statement but not surprising. Some people had predicted in season 1 that will happen. But yes it was bold. They have not yet killed one of the main characters permanently ever before.

Since I was not there on social media when TO was announced so I dont know what people were expecting but in general people are disappointed.

Which idea are you talking about in bold? New spinoff or TO when it was announced?

The Enzo idea is what Twitter is shutting down, TO was just hated back then, but not generally dismissed like this is.

I have warm up to Enzo. I wouldn't mind a show of Enzo and Bonnie.

I read somewhere that CW's new vampire show Lost Boys only could happen bc TVD/TO is ending. There are vampires on Shadowhunters and Fox is developing a vampire show based on The Passage novels. A spinoff just doesn't seem likely.
