5 Theories About The Vampire Diaries Finale That Will Either Make You or Destroy You

Warning: potential series finale spoilers ahead!

Stefan and Caroline Get Married
After teasing Steroline's wedding during Comic-Con, a few fans are dead set on proving that the duo is tying the knot in the finale. Recently, Ian Somerhalder posted a selfie of him and Paul Wesley in matching black tuxes with Candice King behind them in the background. Perhaps she was hiding Caroline's wedding dress?

Stefan Becomes a Human:
Recently, Wesley has been filming scenes with a bandage on his hand, which a vampire definitely wouldn't need since they heal instantaneously. He was even spotted without his daylight ring during a scene with Graham. While it definitely seems out of left field for Stefan to become human, it's not completely far-fetched. Out of all the vampires, Stefan has probably had the hardest time dealing with his blood lust. (Hello, he's a ripper!) Maybe, in an effort to be a good parental figure for Caroline's twins, he takes the cure to ensure they will have a normal life. Well, as normal as twin witches with a vampire mom can be.

Bonnie Becomes a Vampire
It's been hinted at this whole season. Now that Bonnie has fallen in love with an immortal vampire, it makes sense that she would turn as well. And it's not like she has powers as a witch anymore. The only problem, though, is that her life is still tied to Elena's. Since Kai explicitly said no loopholes, she doesn't want jeopardize the chance that Elena would never wake up. As always, Bonnie is putting everyone else before herself.

Enzo Takes the Cure
Of course, the perfect alternative for Bonnie and Enzo's star-crossed romance would be for him to take the cure. Think about it. This could ensure that the two live a happy and human life together, and when they both kick the bucket, Elena will wake up and Damon can take the cure. Everyone lives happily ever after, right?

If you're a Stelena fan, then you better hold onto your seat. After Kevin Williamson posted a picture of Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley on set, some fans are left wondering if there will actually be a Stefan and Elena reunion in the finale. It would definitely explain why the episode is titled "I Was Feeling Epic," after Lexi's famous line to Stefan about Elena.

Well a lot of Selena fans think that Elena and Stefan are end game because of a couple of pictures on the set. There's a picture of Stefan and Elena sitting on a bench (I can't find that picture) and the picture below.

That's if it's actually Caroline's wedding. The reason why I say that is because a recent spoiler stated that Matt's mom crashes the wedding. So either it's Matt,or his father's wedding, or Caroline is getting married and something happens to Matt.

Stefan human, doesn't make sense unless they really kill Caroline

If Enzo is killed by Kai (I hope not) and Caroline is killed (I truly hope not. I want Klaroline!)Then Bonnie will offer the cure to Stefan, especially if Damon sacrificed himself so Elena can wake up. Then that would explain the picture of Stefan sitting with Elena/Katherine in the daylight without his daylight ring on. That also would play homage to the very first episode.

Enzo is supposed to be killed by Kai.There are no more mention of Enzo after 8X13

Will not seem convincing esp after all this development between Caroline and Stefan, but if they keep on telling fans this through interviews then maybe it will become believable just like some other ships on TO and TVD.

I agree with Dstrom, that ship has sailed, sailed a long time ago.

Stefan/Caroline married seem likely.

Stefan turning human seem likely but does not make sense with Caroline unless they are going with Stelena. Elena is human, right? OR they are planning on killing Caroline. IS it likely that he did this to control his bloodlust to protect Caroline and her children. But i dont think they will break them up on this.

Bonnie becoming vampire seems likely and getting her HAE with vampire Enzo.

Enzo taking the cure- hmm maybe.

If they kill Caroline they will get hate from all the loyal fans and Klaroline shippers and steroline. Noway they will do that after she gets married with Stefan. Noway people would get pissed. This will go down in history as most hated finale even beating Dexter and how i met your mother

Who cares about the Steroline and Klaroline fans. They been giving Julie hate and all other people... they deserve a good smack in the mouth with Caroline dying as far I'm concerned. Steroline is a very small ship.

Most unpopular opinion perhaps but i loved Dexter's ending..

I am pretty sure they will not kill Caroline (coz of her kids) but with these shows anything is possible.

As for Klaroline, i think they will be happy to see her dead than end up with Stefan. They in general dont care abt her mommy status either- hate that story line.

Me too,....however They already killed a very pregnant Jo, and this is the show that had Damon kill a pregnant women. Plus Caroline name wasn't mention as going to New Orleans with Alaric.

As for Klaroline, i think they will be happy to see her dead then end up with Stefan. They in general dont care abt her mommy status either- hate that story line.

That not true. If she's alive she will remain in the kids life, therefore she would leave to be closer to her kids, who are heading to New Orleans. ...where Klaus live.

Do we know that he is moving there? And why would he do that when he moved from MF to keep his kids safe?

And I meant Caroline having kids storyline. I think they will not kill her because of her mommy status and just because of that whereas someone who does not care about her mommy status will not be sold on that theory/ assumption.

As for JO, she was a temporary in this show not one of the main characters. They made her pregnant coz Candice was pregnant, to accommodate a pregnant Candice in the show, purely an actress service (like fan service but for an actress). She was always meant to die. If they had gone on empathy angle AND Candice were not pregnant they wouldnt have killed JO so tragically.

Plus Caroline name wasn't mention as going to New Orleans with Alaric.

There has been numerous reports this season that when the show ends that Alaric will go over to the originals. So he's going to be on the originals in season 4.

No. I said if she's alive and Alaric moved to New Orleans then she is likely to want to be closer to her kids, which which would give Klaroline fans hope. But she wasn't mention as going with Alaric in the crossover.

I think most (I do not speak for all) would rather have her alive and keep the possibility of her going to New Orleans alive.

I rather see Stefan end up with Katherine. I have been rooting for them two to get together since season 2 memory lane. I always thought the show should end with Damon and Elena,and Stefan with Katherine.

I know about the crossover but do we suspect that the move is permanent? Like I said before, it does not make sense with him wanting to take the kids away from Caroline in the first place because he wanted to keep them safe. How can they be safe in a town full of vampires? I mean yes we will roll with whatever is shown to us. Hope is there afterall and safe and sound. But it jsut does not make sense.

I think most (I do not speak for all) would rather have her alive and keep the possibility of her going to New Orleans alive.

Yeah I can see that. But we have not heard anything about her being on TO set. I am sure this news couldn thave been kept quiet. And we have yet not heard anything about KLaus/JOMO on TVD set for series finale of TVD. Have we?

I doubt there is anything the writers could do to make this finale worse than How I met your mother. I mean, that got such a negative reaction that the writers had to make an alternate ending just for the fans.

There was a alternative ending to the season finale to how I met your mother? I hated that we go 8 whole season talking about the mother and it took Ted Moseby almost two years to marry her?? Ted who once ask a girl to marry him after knowing her a few months? Ted would have married her before she became pregnant, or at least ask. Then she dies,and we found out the whole thing is about him and Robin. Worst season finale ever next to season 3 finale of The Affair.

They probably was thinking they would get cancelled therefore they didn't care. It was the absolute worst season finale ever.....unless we find out that his making up with Whitney,and his kids,was all in his head.

Yeah, the put it on the dvd set, but you can find it on youtube as well.

The ending televised ending didn't bother me as much as it did others (maybe because I never entirely stopped loving Ted and Robin), but I do understand why others would be disappointed. If they wanted to end it with Ted and Robin, they probably shouldn't have spent so much time telling the audience that they were over.

It's confirmed!Stefan turns human in 8X13.He also gets shot, but survived.

So Enzo must have died,because he was supposed to take the cure so he could be with Bonnie. So either End I died,or Bonnie turned. Stefan likely turn human because Caroline couldn't trust him around the twins as long as he was a vampire. So it looks like they do get married too.

I beg to differ. There's a spoiler going around (and I truly hope it's not true) that Kai returns and Kills Enzo. Enzo say some sweet sentimental things to her from the other side, and then Jeremy returns.

I for one hope they are not killing Enzo off just so Bonnie and Jeremy can have a happy ending. I would hate that . Jeremy left without saying goodbye,and when he return there wasn't anything between him and Bonnie . I truly hope they don't do that.

I never really trust JP"s word when it comes to Bonnie. Some of the stuff that she said that she was going to do in relation to Bonnie she really hasn't done or the writing for Bonnie would have improved long ago.

She didn't say that he was alive just that he was in the Finale. He could be there as a ghost. It has happened with characters like Lily.Grams and others. An actor/actresses appearing in an episode of TVD after their characters death doesn't mean that they are always alive.

Also JP saying that she was emotional or crying during some Bonnie and Enzo scene could be Enzo coming back as a ghost to say comeback.

Carp! I knew J.P couldn't give Bonnie a happy ending.Here versions of a happy ending is to have Enzo dies, and Jeremy return and Bonnie dies saving Jeremy ....again.
