EPISODE SYNOPSIS FOR 8X14 IT'S BEEN A HELL OF A RIDE

WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD – Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) must join forces against Cade (guest star Wolé Parks) in order to save Elena’s casket. Meanwhile, Caroline (Candice King) and Alaric (Matt Davis) deal with their daughters’ burgeoning magical powers. Pascal Verschooris directed the episode written by Brett Matthews & Shukree Hassan

The twins are siphoners, they don't have their own magic therefore it can't grow rapidly (burgeoning). They can only take it from someone or something else. Who ever wrote this episode doesn't pay attention to the mythology in the show.

I love that Nina straight up left the show yet they are still having to find ways to save Elena. But not even Elena, her coffin. LOL. Julie Plec should never work again, this is straight up ridiculous.

 I rolled my eyes at that part. Didn't do the exact same thing in season 7? Protect Elena's coffin, hide Elena's coffin ,and chase after Elena's coffin . If Elena do wake up wouldn't she suffocated in her coffin?

But you still have to breath. Elena is human now so her body should function like a human which means she will still need to breath. The ridiculous part is they continue to write that someone trying to steal Elena's coffin..again.

It's the spell.Kai said that Elena's body won't age ,will stay the same,so I suppose the spell also allows her to breat in a coffin.Of course without the spell she would be suffocating.

I wonder if the twin will have something to do with Elena's return? Like maybe Syphon the magic magic spell that is keeping her in a sleep induce coma.

Yeah I would say that is what bringing their magic up is for. They would have no purpose to take up time in the final episodes with the twins' magic unless it was going to be used in a big way. If it isn't Elena then it is something else.

Seriously why are regulars sitting out episodes so close to the end. This is not acceptable. Everyone regular should be accounted for in the last 3 or 4 episodes.

Bonnie's in tonight and Ep 13, Enzo's dying, and Alarics back next week I believe, so it's just Bonnie sitting out for two episodes.

I wonder if Nina is actually going to be in more episodes than just the finale, I thought I had heard she's been in Atlanta for while. And not that it's necessarily reliable but the IMDb spoiler for this episode says Nina is rumored to be in it. Would be kind of cool I think!
