They've previously described the cure as a cure for vampirism. When have they ever said that it turns any supernatural person into a human? I wouldn't think it would turn a werewolf or a witch into a human. Hell, when Katherine and Elena took the cure they were still doppelgangers weren't they?

The cure is intended only for those turned by the immortality spell (Silas) or a variation of it (Vampires). Silas is the one the cure was actually made for so of course it works on him.
It how ever doesn't/shouldn't work on Cade because he is not immortal. He's a previously dead Psychic who created Hell and therefore can bring himself back to life whenever he wants. He did not live for over 4000 years,he was dead and ruling Hell.
Cade is immortal Damon said it several times during the episode as did Caroline.

Cade is not immortal. He is basically like Questiyah - someone living in another dimension that stepped into our own. That didn't make Questiyah immortal and I fail to see how it makes Cade the same.
Or because the narrative says so. Klaus didn't start off as immortal either. He was made that way because of magic. Cade dying set off his magic.

Klaus died and was brought back to life by the Immortality Spell.
The Immortality Cure is the antidote to the Immortality Spell.
The narrative contradicts itself, which is what people have a problem with.
Cade isn't just some immortal who is wandering the Earths. He's the Devil. The devil isn't someone who can be "cured" and turned human because he isn't human to begin with. When Cade died, yes it set off his magic, but that magic didn't make him an immortal in the sense of Silas or Klaus. It made him take control of the Hell dimension. You can't be an immortal if you don't even exist in this dimension. If they "cure" him and make him human, it would just be to whatever body he occupies on Earth.

It's a cure for immortality, originally intended for Silas. It was described as a "Cure for Vampirism" by The Originals because they didn't believe Silas (a immortal that's isn't a vampire) existed.

Following the lore of this show and "the other side" how does it make any sense for there to now suddenly be a hell run by a psychic who died horribly for no reason.
Furthermore how does it make sense for Cade to want to inflict misery on random people who don't truly deserve it when that's exactly what happened to him?
