..once again proving why they are the only ones deserving of a happy ending on this show. This entire episode, all Stefan, Caroline, and Damon cared about was STEFAN. Not their friend that just lost the love of her life. Not their friend that Stefan murdered. But Stefan, and his woeful little feelings. To not have any of her closest friends check on her (and I mean REALLY check on her, not just leave voice messages) until the very end and it being Matt (not her lifelong bff Caroline, or her new time bff Damon) but Matt, her dear friend who hates all vampires but still took the time to go to her house and be with her as she grieved her vamp boyfriend.

And of course the episode ends with something bad happening to Stefan so everyone can be worried about him again... and I'm sure this will prompt Bonnie to forgive him blah blah blah...

are you really surprised? That is what happens in shows like these. In Originals Elijah killed Marcel. Hayley who was Marcel's friend was actually manipulating Klaus into forgiving Elijah and was sleeping with Elijah , consoling Elijah all the time, not a concern or sorrow at Marcel's death.

The defense is that because she is involved with Elijah so why should she care about other relationships. Caroline is involved with Stefan. You cannot really expect her to console Bonnie and leave Stefan on his own!

Actually that's exactly what I expected her to do. That's what a friend is. Stefan's not going anywhere. Enzo did. He died. Stefan killed him. Bonnie is the first person Caroline should've been concerned about. Stefan has a brother. All Bonnie has are her friends, who weren't there.

IN ideal world yes that is how things should go but that is not how things happen. Unfortunately often people choose their romantic interest over family or friendships. It is all a matter of priorities... how ever screwed up they are.

It is actually pretty sad situation. ALways leaves a bad taste in my mouth for the character who chooses.

Damon and Caroline both show that they are worried about Bonnie.

They also admit outright they can't do anything about it at that second as she isn't returning calls.

She didn't answer Matt's calls either. That didn't stop him. I think it was just a piss poor job of storytelling. After that 'letter' moment last week and Bonnie being Caroline's maid of honor and life long best friend.. I just see no logical reason why neither of them wouldn't be more concerned. It didn't make sense to me.

The difference is Matt doesn't give a crap about Stefan of course all he is going to worry about is Bonnie.

She didn't answer Matt's calls either. That didn't stop him.

Nothing will prevent a true friend who has his/her priorities straight to reach out to their friend in time of need.

Not saying that Stefan didnt need Caroline at that moment but he was wrong and did Bonnie an unrepairable harm. Caroline should have gone to her regardless of if she wanted her presence or not.

Caroline knew that Bonnie would not want to see her that's why she called Bonnie's Mom.
Damon was doing what Damon always does, what he has to do. In this case saving Stefans soul. First.
That doesn't mean that they don't care.
Stefan was on his way when he was abducted.

Stefan was in his situation saving Damon, and Caroline's children, of course their priority is saving his life since he's in immediate danger.

He was bouta go to jail, can't have your brother or husband around when he's in every police database for murdering 30+ people. To them that takes Precedence over counseling Bonnie who didn't even want to see them.

You saw how easy it was for Caroline to get Stefan out. That wasn't danger. They can compel officers, lawyers, judges... He was having a meltdown. She chose to comfort him, instead of her friend. Had Caroline shown up at Bonnie's house anyway, she would not have turned her away.

He was going to jail in a matter of hours, it was all but a matter of time. He was in danger of being killed by Cade, Damon was on that, and Caroline specifically realized Bonnie wouldn't want to see her when Damon told her to think about it. Bonnie didn't turn Matt away because he had nothing to do with Stefan, and wouldn't have a chance or be in a position to be making an apology for him. Caroline did 1 better than her showing up anyway, she called Abby.

Most episodes are about Damon and how the gang/just Stefan can save Damon's ass for the 50th time, so I don't see how this episode where Stefan's fiance and his brother were prioritizing him is a concern? He was in trouble.

I mean, it's not like anyone gave two sh-ts about Tyler after they buried his body, so what do you expect them to do for Enzo? Sit around and cry about it? Bonnie hates them. She needed her space.

They always say Bonnie doesn't want to see so and so when something happens to her. No one ever really comes to her rescue or to comfort her. It's always about what they need from her or seeking forgiveness (so at to assuage personal guilt). This isn't the first time people have saved Steffan from being held accountable for the people he has murdered and harmed. He was never in any real danger of facing consequences of the human world.

They unearth Bonnie's mother, whom we haven't seen in like two or three seasons? I feel like the last time we saw her, she has just been turned into a vampire.

Actually Stefan and Caroline have counseled Bonnie a few times.
