wtf Caroline!!!?? (regarding Violet)

One thing that really bothered me a couple episodes back was how Violet's (the girl who wins Miss Mystic Falls) transformation into a vampire was dealt with. First of all Caroline basically convinces her to make the transition into a vampire, 'It's not all bad, if I can do it you can, I WILL HELP YOU', blah etc. So naturally I thought this would be a little side arc of her teaching this girl the ways of vampirism (controlling urges, feeding etc) because obviously leaving a newbie vampire to their own devices would be dangerous and basically stupid, especially seen as though the reason why this girl turned in the first place was because Caroline made a strong argument to do so.

Then, literally the next episode opens with Caroline moping about not wanting to get out of bed with a woe is me etc attitude, I straight away thought hasn't she got a newbie vampire to train, look after?? where is this Violet girl as clearly no one is worried as no one has mentioned her in the slightest. When Caroline was in bed on the phone to Bonnie I was expecting at least a quick 'well after a night of bunny hunting Violet is sleeping it off'...etc.

Then we have a scene with Violet, having just killed some randomers, clearly not doing well in her newbie vampire state, now staked and offered up to Cade most likely for easy pickings due to her killing. Where was everyone!? Even when she was told Caroline barely batted an eye. Obviously writers didn't have time for another training montage of hunting etc but at least throw in a few comments so it doesn't look like Caroline convinced this girl to turn then just washed her hands of her.
Don't get me wrong, Caroline is hands down one of my favourite characters and still is, just thought this was a slight downer in terms of rushed writing etc, Did anyone else think this??
