I'd take it anyday over Stelena and Delena. Human Elena died for Matt, Vampire Elena with her humanity off had her humanity back on only when she saw Matt getting killed/hurt. She loves him way more than she realizes.

I mean she does have sexual love for Stefan but stelena was less about sex than Delena was hence why DE was deemed more hot and interesting than "boring stelena". Elena was a romantic hopeless when she was with Stefan then she became sex addict when she's with Damon.

Truly the worst (and boring) ending ever. No one should marry Matt. Elena broke up with Matt way before she even met Stefan and Damon because she wasn't in love with him, and didn't feel the Same way about him that he did about her. She wouldn't have ended up with him. However, I can see Elena going back in time and changing the course of things , so that when she goes into the future it's like she never met Stefan and Damon.

She wasn't writing a book she was writing in her journal, and god no this is a horrendous idea, I mean does this ever work? maybe once or twice but the majority of the time this type of ending just pisses people off, as silly as it sounds finding out the fictional characters you have watched for years are actually fictional characters within the fictional show itself just annoys people, as if they were real people we were fooled into caring about, it's weird but annoying.
shareI think it's a good ending . Love the show, but some of it was so over the top ! What's the total body count on this show ? People die they come back . She's just a small town girl with a big imagination. She wrote in a journal so she loves to write. She becomes in author. Her friends are all in the book. Book is published just before her wedding to Matt.

shareI keep seeing this theory but the problem with that is it will affect both tvd and the originals. As a lot of what happened had to do with Klaus and the Mikaelsons. Even if Stefan and Damon had never showed, Elena's life still would have been ruined because Katherine would have came in order to use Elena so she herself could escape Klaus. And without the Salvatores none of them would have lasted 1 week with Katherine let alone the Mikaelsons. They'd all be dead. And if they made this all a dream, then Katherine would still be alive and running from Klaus, Klaus would still have the hybrid curse on him, he never would have met Hayley and gotten her pregnant, then The Originals show wouldn't have happened.
I do think she'll end up with Matt though. Not immediately, but after a few years. And i think there's a lot of flashbacks to the first episode or so and maybe some scenes where the characters wonder what would could have happened.
I swear I said she would marry Matt back in season 4, but I was called crazy for it.
I doubt they would do it though, there would be a lot of backlash.
