Thoughts: What Are You?
SPOILERS FOR 8X12
I. CANNOT. SAY. Lmao.
So, decent episode, until the last 5 minutes, then became great.
I'm really surprised Bonnie let Stefan escape from that situation, although I guess he'd suffer more alive.
So, a lot of focus on Matt lately... Hmmmm.
Alarics back, Dorian is here too.
Lmao at Stefan getting arrested five minutes after being human AGAIN!
Damon and Caroline's quick convo didn't resonate with me, and the only thing I don't like when Bonnie feels loss is the shutting out someone like Caroline. I mean if anything Caroline's been on her side all season, she defended Enzo when he was controlled by Sybil, she went right along with Bonnie taking the cure, she's even admitted she was wrong for not noticing Bonnie's feelings. Her shutting out Damon was fine though.
Oh, WHY TF IS EVERYONE GIVING TWO *beep* ABOUT ENZO!? God dammit man, I understand Damon and Bonnie, why does Alaric care? He barely gives two *beep* about Bonnie as is. Matts comfort was done right this episode, he was sorry for Bonnie, as was Abby, not Enzo, I mean even Stefan acted like he just muredered Jeremy or something.
Here's the facts:
Enzo has done nothing to make up for:
Torturing Stefan and Elena
Trying to kill Jeremy
Threatening Matt
Killing Monigue
Seeking out Sarah Salvatore
Kidnapping Caroline
Turning his emotions off and trying to burn everybody down
Killing himself and blaming Stefan
Blackmailing Damon and Bonnie to bring him back
Just off the top of my head.
Moving on, we flashback to whatever times when Ethan Maxwell, who's basically matts Doppleganger, created the bell because he was Sirened (yes, Seline and Sybil) God I didn't miss them at all.
Now that Stefan is human he feels hella guilty for what he's done, overhearing the daughter of the woman he Almost killed last week, him and Caroline search for her, eventually find her.
Cade shows up and tells Damon their deal serve the Devil is over now that Stefan's human, and he's killing him at midnight unless Damon steals the Maxwell journal from Matt, Dorian, and Alaric.
Damon shows up, Alaric shows no regard for Stefan's now human life even though he saved his daughters, and shoots Damon with vervain.
Bonnie is shocked when Abby Bennett returns, Bonnie hears Enzo calling to her (I knew they were going to bring him back) and they do a seance, Abby stops it and burns Enzo's body because apparently Bonnie's opened a door to Hell. I definitley think Bonnie's becoming the next Devil.
In these flashbacks, Ethan Maxwell is involved with a Bennett witch, but not being able to stop himself, he rings the bell 12 times, The witches contain the wave but are all burned in the process. Saving the town though. The Sirens reveal a blade made out of Cade that can kill him, apparently no one realizes at first word this is the weapon besides Damon.
Damon steals the journal and gives it to Cade, who burns it.
Stefan and Caroline agree they don't know how they'll be going forward, but that they will go forward.
Stefan and Damon share their only scene of the episode and the first scene both back to normal since 7x22. Stefan asks Damon if there's hope for them, hope for redemption. Damon lying or not lying says absolutely. Stefan doesn't expect Bonnie to forgive him because he can't forgive himself, but Damon tells him the clock doesn't start ticking until the words come out.
Bonnie and Matt share a scene in which he gives his condolences for Enzo, and tells her their families go way back in a very touching moment.
Damon shows up to Alaric at The Armory where he doesn't apologize for saving his brother, and tells Alaric he knows what the weapon is.
Stefan is about to walk up to Bonnie's house and I was like FINALLY, were getting the first emotional Stefan and Bonnie scene since like Season 4. And then he gets kidnapped by who I assume is Dorian. DAMN. IT. I WANT TO SEE THE APOLOGY!
Damon reveals the blade to Alaric, they basically make up, until...
KAI PARKER WALKS THROUGH THE CAVE!
So this episode is basically the informative "how to kill Cade" episode, while letting Stefan guilt trip. But damn that last five minutes though.
Also, it looks like through the promo that Kai is going to help Damon and Alaric, like HE wants to kill Cade, I like the twist.
Stefan and Kai are like seriously not going to meet though? Like Bruh.
I think these last 4 episodes are bound to be wild though.
8.5/10 can't wait for next week.
