Think I know How They're Bringing Elena back (without Bonnie Dying)...

So if you're caught up we know that Kai is back (OMG)

And in the recent teaser below it's confirmed that Elena has returned somehow!

And in the trailer from this week's episode it's apparent that Kai will have his hand at bringing her back in exchange of him getting out of hell and "brought to life again".

Soooooo my theory is, since Kai was able to return it's safe to say that anyone in Hell can cross over through the door that was opened when Cade left and Bonnie released that psychic energy after Enzo's death. And as long as Cade does not return to Hell and Bonnie does not close it- that door remains open and hence characters that have died keep slowly coming through (so far we got Kai and maybe the person who kidnapped Stefan.. and I heard David Anders, Elena's dad, is coming back too).

I think if Cade dies then that door remains open permanently and that's why Kai wants to help kill him so that he can be brought to life permanently.

So back to Elena..... the way they can bring her back without killing Bonnie is by killing her. We've been reminded by Cade repeatedly that Elena's soul will go to Hell. It was an Easter Egg! They're going to kill her. She will go to Hell. And then she will be able to come through that "door" and so long as Cade is killed too - she'll stay alive again permanently.


If this is the way it goes I feel like it all circles back and the writers would kinda make sense.

That makes sense . Because there has been rumors that Stefan will die before the season finale,and rumors that we will see Enzo again. So consider that Stefan bleeds out all the cure (he was already hurt) if he gets hurt again all the cure will be gone from his body then he should start to age, and die. So leaving the door open will allow him to return along with Elena.

actually the spoiler i read, as per that stefan is alive in 816...

that scene with bonnie is also from 816, i think.

but the op theory sound interesting.

Are you sure he's alive? If he's alive then Damon must had did something to get him out of his deal with Cade.

No, I am not sure but I read the spoiler that he runs in the burning clock tower after kissing Caroline. Damon and someone else is trapped in the clock tower. They burned the clock tower in 816, right?

I heard that spoiler. There another part of it that is not made clear. Elena, or some people speculate Katherine falls/ or jumps from the tower . Some extra was describing what they saw while filming.They know Elena/Katherine is lying on the ground.

Nina didn't shoot that film.Someone else shot down that speculation.Nina had already finished filming for that day

Yep I heard Stefan crying by Katherine's body. Initially it was said that it was Elena by someone who was watching the shooting but then they said no it was Katherine.

I am not sure that they will keep Katherine alive after bringing her back in the finale esp if she is the final villain so yeah I can see her dying once again. How many that will be now ? Two ?

And then someone else confirmed that it wasn't Nina and she didn't film that scene.She had already wraped her day and didn't film this. We'll see

Or....

Bonnie dies and comes back to life because of the open gate, and Elena wakes up. This can happen too.

I think Elena's memories will be erased at the end after she wakes up and she won't know who Stefan or Damon are. And then it ends like Seasons 1-8 never happened for her.
