Shai's Acting

I know this is an action movie and its pretty much about blowing s**t up, but did Mr. Bay just decide he couldn't take the time to direct Shai's performance? Labouf spends most of his screen time screaming like a little girl with a skinned knee. I get that he is in unreal situations, but he just seems to spend the entire movie either screaming or complaining. Most unlikeable leading character in a movie. Since I knew he would not be in TF4, I was really hoping they would kill off his character just so they would not be tempted to bring him back. Overall I liked the movie better than TF2 mostly, because it had a coherent plot and I could actually distinguish between the autobots during fight scenes (unlike in TF1). The autobots seemed to have more personality this time as well, so that was a plus.

Indeed, Laboeuf looks really crazy in this one, especially when he tries to start his Datsun, and when he flips out when the guards don't let him enter the complex. Looks like he was under cocaine when he did those scenes, maybe he was...

I thought it was a decent portrayal of how a non-hero ordinary person that was repeatedly thrown into heroic extraordinary events would act. The cockiness he shows getting into NEST and with CIA woman or even the job interviews would easily be gained by someone that saved the planet and was the go to guy for the government. Even his mania behavior can be explained by considering how the events of the first two movies would effect his personality. He was a bit of a spaz at the start of the first movie, so it shouldn't be any wonder why he has gotten worse with all that hes done or been through. Alien fights aside, I'd be pretty cocky with a feather in my hat just by pulling Megan Fox alone.
