Awful movie
make TF4 the anime and the old animators
shareMy only complaint was Ironhide getting killed off.
shareYup it was awful indeed!
And yet people never learnt from the first two times Bay made a TF movie did they?

ST4
When Gotham is ashes, you have my permission to die!
I especially hate how Michael Bay's fanboys are trying to stick up for him by saying "Well, the cartoon is actually a lot worse". Obviously, everybody has their own opinion, but HOW IN THE HELL IS THIS ANY BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL CARTOON?! The humans in G1 were bland at best, but they weren't rude and obnoxious like those in the Bayformers trilogy, and the autobots were Gary-Stu types to some extent, but at least they weren't used as racial stereotypes!
To be fair though, I will give the first (2007) movie credit for getting me into the cartoons (including the newer ones), but the sequels were SH-T compared any of the Transformer shows I came across. I tried giving these movies another chance after "Revenge of the Fallen", but this POS fell flatter than roadkill.
"Transformers: Animated" even had a better storyline and characters that Michael Gay could NEVER pull-off in these exploding pornos!!!
(I'm sorry for freaking out like this, I just hate this movie so damn much.)
"Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!"
I saw this movie in the theater and was utterly bored through much of it. Didn't enjoy it.
In its initial stages, Dark of the Moon has a goofy, quasi mystery/suspense thriller/conspiracy theory/paranoia type vibe. I sensed something brewing and I really wish the filmmakers had continued pursuing that avenue. Instead, what followed seemed to be endless battles and drawn-out talking that lacked a true sense of urgency. Subsequently, I wasn't invested in any of the characters or impending fate of our planet.
To be fair, I thought Patrick Dempsey was okay in his role and he had some decent moments. But Malkovich, Turturro and Frances McDormand were all wasted and given nothing to do. And the latter two can do SO much.
For stretches, I sat spaced out, thinking of stuff I had to do in the coming days.
Despite their flaws and a few too many moments of stupidity, I enjoyed the first two movies. I didn't have any fun at all watching this one.
But Malkovich, Turturro and Frances McDormand were all wasted and given nothing to doI was quite excited when I heard Malkovich was going to be in it. I was expecting him to be a commanding presence like Jon Voight in the first movie. Instead his performance was even weirder than Turturro's! share
Watched it again just now for the first time in two years... actually enjoyed it this time. Changed my score for it.
shareO god and other whining post. How bad a action movie is. You want tits go see some porno. You want love go see some romatisch movies. You want reality movies go see earth. The movie is not made for skumbags crybabys that the faq are wrong and blahblah blah, /end of discusion the movie is not good but realy its not bad to. So quit it.
shareNot a whining post but a necessary post to express views, concerns, and expectations. I completely agree this movie was awful with regards to story and casting among other issues. I understand that block buster action films aren't known for their stories, content, or plots. However, if yer going to base the film on a previous story why not at least stick somewhere close to the script. The original cartoon had a lot more plot, story, and character depth as mentioned by a lot of the people who have seen it and it was successful. So then why not add these elements to this action film? It's an added value that also appeals to fans of the original series. What is the point in making an action film that only attracts a few customers when it can be made to fit a much greater audience!?
If yer going to take the overall plot and use the name "Transformers", respect should be given to what the story actually is, the depth and originality of the characters rather than a guise to show graphics, a "model", and a few lines that make you smile and chuckle. It also appears there was no intent in appealing to the fans of Transformers, particularly with what happens to Ironhide and especially Starscream.
The original transformers not only had a working story-line but the characters were original, their relationships were interesting enough to keep someone watching and wanting for me accompanied by good action. Imo that is what a good action film is. An action film is not just action.

It is terrible.

Victims, aren't we all?
The movie is awesome and making the movie like an old anime would suck

the score was aweful. the plot was convoluted. this movie had potential and some great scene - ruined by ... I would assume the director and people he owed money too.
I thought TF1 was redemption for Pearl Harbor ... but MB just dug a big hole of crap. Maybe he will exit some day and get actual taste?
I detest how Sam is no longer involved so he can play boy toy for the bimbo who wants to change who he is because she's afraid of him getting hurt! If Sam is working for some company away from the Autobots in the next movie, it's done!
Wasn't me
