I don't understand how these movies get made?

I haven't seen the first one in a while, but I remember kind of liking it. I thought the second one was pretty bad and didn't bother with this one. I have been catching a lot of it on TV lately, and have seen most of the big fight scenes on YouTube.

Jesus Christ, this is a bad movie. I mean everything about it is bad. The characters are all loud and twitchy, like they are on cocaine. The effects are brutal; they look beyond fake. They're as anti-climatic as hell too. Stuff explodes so often, there's no tension at all during those scenes. And even the audio is bad. Peter Cullen actually sounds like he's in a sound booth.

Better not tell that to Bay fanboys though. They might throw a fit because "you didn't like the same movies as them".

You don't understand how they get made? They get made because they've brought in nearly 3 billion dollars.

That is EXACTLY my point. How do these movies make money? They are awful, even at what they are supposed to be. The action is so anti-climatic and boring, I don't know who finds that entertaining?

I haven't seen the first one in a while, but I don't remember minding it all that much. But the sequels get bigger, dumber, faker looking, and somehow more boring with each one that is made.

Because of good marketing, commercial appeal, brand recognition, star recognition, hype, word of the mouth, etc. seriously just do the math man. Other than that it's just a matter of opinions, not everyone is going to like the same thing you do and clearly a lot of people like these movies even with their flaws.

How is this even hard to understand? marlinfan1995 summed it up perfectly:

You don't understand how they get made? They get made because they've brought in nearly 3 billion dollars.

The movie gets made because it makes money. LOTS AND LOTS of money.

And yet the movies are still really bad.

That's the point: How do they make money? They are horrible (the sequels at least). They aren't even good action movies. They look fake as hell and are boring too.

I love when people post stupid questions like this. "How can something I don't like be popular!?" You ever stop to think that not everybody thinks like you and might actually enjoy these movies?

reply

People who are not you enjoyed the films.

Next question?

Please. Don't even pretend I'm the first one to show up on this board with a less-than-flattering opinion of this movie. These movies have a "mixed reception" at best.

Because you are apparently in the minority. For every old school transformers fanboy like yourself that raise hell about these movies, there are 100 people that actually have different taste than you (shocker to you I'm sure), that actually liked it. Got nothing to do with being a Michael Bay fan or not. Frankly, I could care less either way about him. Had he not made these movies, somebody else would've. So how about stick to movies you enjoy and quit bitching about ones you don't like.

Of note, saying that you haven't seen this movie, then coming back and saying based on the few clips that you've seen, that it's terrible kind of says it all. You see 10 minutes of a 2 1/2 hour movie and rip it for being terrible. How very judgmental of you.

As has been mentioned, these movies make boat loads of money, that's why they or any other movie is ever made....to make money.

Your review is an opinion, which is fine, but not related to the question you pose in the thread title.
