I don't get the plan
If the decepticons had this whole plan going on from the 60s then why did they even bother with their plans from the first two movies? What were they thinking? Keeping it a secret?

sharealso if they were so deep down in our government they would find out the Cube decades ago
shareHow would they find the cube? They had no computers to hack, Sector 7 was so top secret that not even top government officials knew about it. The only thing the Decepticons were deep in were a few accounting firms.

This was the plan:
Step 1: Megatron finds the cube on Earth and uses it's power to turn human technology that doesn't exist yet into a Decepticon army.
Step 2: The Decepticons, led by the Fallen, use the cube to find the Matrix of Leadership and turn on the Sun Harvester. All life on Earth is extinguished, but they have enough Energon to rebuild their own dying planet.
Step 3: 10,000 or so years later, the Decepticons use the Matrix of Leadership to revive Sentinel Prime and get the pillars to teleport Cybertron into Earth's orbit. Then, to rebuild their much larger and technologically advanced planet, they enslave the humans even though all life on Earth is extinct. Of course, they may have been able to rebuild Cybertron with the Decepticon Army that Megatron created from technology that never existed.

Who says that's what he wanted the cube for?Ratchet did.
Exactly... why would megaton and the fallen try and destroy the sun in no. 2 if he was planning to enslave the human race in no. 3, given they're on the same time line and he was on his way to meet sentinel "the traitor" prime when he crashed into the ice? Just seems a bit fickle to forget about rebuilding his home planet despite having most of the spacebridge parts collected in the 70's. 40 odd years isn't that long considering how long they've been around for.
