So what's with the title?

Why is it not called Dark Side of the Moon? Does anyone have an explanation for this?

In the trivia section, it says there's a period of darkness before the new moon part of the lunar cycle that is referred to as the "dark of the moon" :)

Maybe Bay couldn't get permission to use that as a title.

It's just weird the movie barely spends any actual time on the moon.
