I wonder if the IT sequel will feature the children again?

I mean as flashbacks for their adult counterparts?

That was one thing I noticed about the miniseries, that it started off with the adults and they each had flashbacks to their childhoods after Mike rung them, and I'm thinking it was a novel approach. But then again, I suppose the producers of the miniseries needed both casts during filming, as it would've been too expensive otherwise.

I was thinking the same thing. i also wonder if the cast of children did additional scenes to be used in the second film with the adults.
i haven't seen this movie yet so I don't know how they left it at the end. Reading the book though, the last part was a page turner with the adults, then the children going back and forth building up to the point where the children and finally the adults battle the spider.

There is one thing I have always wondered about over the years. King has never been asked about it... not that I know of, and nobody has ever brought it up either, but in the book, the spider was female, and carrying eggs. I remember that the adults were going around stomping on those eggs trying to kill them all.
My thought is, wouldn't it be interesting if they had missed an egg?
I can see that as a way to make a Part 3!

That seems to be what Muschietti (It director) wants:

If things go as planned, then the kids will have larger-than-expected-roles in the sequel. I hope it happens, the kids were impressive.

Thanks for that link! This all sounds so good!

Set it in the present.:-)

It will be set in the present in Chapter Two. This story has only just begun.

They certainly need to be. I was bored with the adults in the mini-series and I was bored with them in the book. Scaring kids is much more believable than adults I guess.

I see what you mean. I don't mind most/some of the adult parts in the book or mini-series, but they are certainly not as gripping, creepy, or thrilling as almost everything with the kids.

I have no doubt they can deliver something beyond worthwhile with the adults in the sequel, though.
