So the clown is a big spider...

.....that's what I remember from the book...

Interesting.

It is a shapeshifting daemon that like to scare the victim before feeding on them because it helps with the taste.

Ummmmm no, Did you read it properly- Throughout the book, It is generally referred to as male; however, late in the book, the protagonists come to believe that It may be female (due to its manifestation as a monstrous female spider). This is, however, not It's "true form," it is simply the closest the human mind can come to approximating it. It's natural form exists in a realm beyond the physical, which It calls the "deadlights" (described as writhing, destructive orange lights). Coming face to face with the deadlights drives any living being instantly insane. Bill comes dangerously close to seeing the deadlights; after looking into It's eyes, he saw the shape behind the shape for a brief moment. He described the sight as an endless, crawling hairy creature made of orange light.

Sounds more like a cuthulu knock off.

Pennywise is not IT.

IT is something else entirely and just uses the guise of a clown, as well as others, to physically manifest itself and interact with people.

IT is also not a spider.

The kids see IT as a spider because IT's form is so alien that to see it clearly would drive a human instantly insane.

So the kids "see" IT as a spider as that is the only thing that their minds can comprehend it as.

It is quite clear and makes sense in words but I feel that this will be difficult to translate to the screen and will appear very cheesy.

First of all let me say I am surprised this message board is not busier with the movie coming out. Second of all I really hope they don't place much emphasis on the idea of It being something that originally came from outer space. Wasn't that mentioned somewhere in the novel? Sorry something from outer space is not as scary as some evil entity older than time itself. A demon that never walked the earth. Third I think they can someway convey the idea that it is something beyond their comprehension. Maybe Its true form is kind of like seeing every form of every scary image and belief at once and this causes a person to go insane. One of the kids can say this in some way. It's like feeling all at once simultaneously every scary thing you can imagine at once. Too many images and feelings for the brain at once and one goes insane. Anyway not claiming this but this is how I like to interpret what It really is.

Well, It DID fall from outer space in the days before recorded time.

The biggest movie of the year (Star War) is coming out in 3 months and nobody is talking about it. Sadly all the IMDb'ers have been scattered to the four corners of the Earth.

im here and ill probably watch the movie but theres actually not much to talk about. the story will be almost the same and i expect it to be worse than the original, because pennywise just cant be replaced.
