The Reviews Are In

My review of “The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia” just went up today on Review Fix. Take a look and let me know if I did it justice (there’s a text box there if you’d like to leave a comment): reviewfix.com/2010/05/straight-from-tribeca-the-wild-and-wonderful-whi tes-of-west-Virginia

You did it justice. You bring out the feel and message of the film. I like your style of reviewing-it is not bogged down with allegories and film jargon(although there is nothing wrong with that. No rambling on and on but to the point without being overlong.
It's all fun and games 'till somebody gets hurt!

Your review isn't too bad. A little short though. And it doesn't describe the excitement of the film. For me and most of my friends, when we see the opening credits (and then pretty much throughout the movie) our jaws hit the floor.

Perhaps for people who've been exposed to this type of outlaw hillbilly culture, the movie isn't that shocking, but for everyone else I think it'd be good to let them know that this isn't your typical (no offense to docu-lovers) boring PBS documentary, it's more like a roller-coaster ride of emotions. You're constantly shifting between laughing at them, feeling sorry for them, and being disgusted by them.

But it's haaarrrrd.
