This is a liberal Democrat family

Early on in the movie, within the first 15 minutes, you see that one of matriarchs of the family has a large Kerry-Edwards shirt on in that family picture. This is at a time when Kerry lost West Virginia by a significant amount (in fact the Democrats have lost this state on the presidential level since Gore even though there are unfortunately a lot of Democrats still there on the state level).

It makes perfect sense the White family is that way and votes this way. They probably voted for Obama too. They need to vote for Democrats in order to keep the welfare and the government handouts coming because like the movie says none of those people actually work a serious job or make an honest living. They also need liberal, Democrat judges to give them slaps on the wrist when they are busted doing drugs instead of going to prison for a long time. Boone COunty is dominated by Democrats.

And in the special features......those guys don't work of course they are complaining about mountaintop removal they don't understand the importance of coal mining to the local economy or what the Democrats war on coal have done to Appalachia. In fact the cap and trade thing will cause electricity for ALL Americans to skyrocket. People like this family are what keep Democrats in power and are the reason Obama is still president. They are not interested in a business friendly environment and job creation because they rather be on welfare and depend on those of us who actually work and pay taxes.

To make it more fair, the filmmakers should do a sequel in Chicago or Detroit with a ghetto family or do an illegal alien family on food stamps but that wouldn't be too PC now would it?
