Why do you think the two popular girls didn't get their faces fixed?

One thing I was wondering was why Bridget and Heather were shown to be still disfigured at the end - well technically Bridget but we can presume Heather was stilled scarred as well. I kept wondering that myself because these days with plastic surgery as advanced as it is there is virtually no kind of facial injury that is completely, totally unfixable. These days plastic surgeons can give people faces presentable to the public when they are actually missing whole eyes, noses and have had their entire faces complete distorted. Google facial reconstructive surgery and you can see what I mean. Are we mean to presume they never got it fixed, either because their families could not afford it, which i would personally doubt since their families probably were at least somewhat well off and that kind of surgery would be a huge priority, or that since Bridget was only shown the day after the incident that it was only temporary and she was soon after going to get her face at least somewhat fixed?

I don't think those were put in the film because it would have gone against the film's themes.

Also, there is a limit to what can be done, even today. I mean if you're talking about skin grafts those have to come from another part of the body and, if I recall the talk about the stuff used, it was said it would likely do bone damage of kind as well, meaning that would have to be reconstructed (if possible). There's also the issue of money, I know it was implied that part of their popularity was being rich (I don't recall it being said but I got that impression) but it doesn't mean they're THAT rich and it would take tons of both time and money, not to mention the agonizing pain and even then it might not fix things exactly as they were.
