Lindsay Seidel (Emily)

really made this movie for me. I wasn't expecting much, but when she was in her mask and then took the mask off she was brilliant. Reminded me of the girl who played in "the orphan".

reply

She reminded me of Rose from Two and a Half Men, both were psychotic.

reply

I too was really impressed by her. That moment at the beginning, when she says, "If you got to know me, I think we'd be friends" (or the actual quote), my heart just went out to her. I mean, yeah, she tortured and seemed to really get into that, but she did seem a bit less embittered by her horrible high school experience than the others were.

Or me, if I think about it.

reply

I know! The "I really do think you would've liked me" quote was heartbreaking. When the movie was over, I couldn't get that part out of my head and my eyes began watering.

reply

This girl reminded me of Harley Quinn from Batman.

reply

Holy s**t me too. lol

reply

in what way??? I love Harley Quinn, she's my all time favorite animated character. have you ever seen Killjoy's Revenge? if you have then you'd know that the character Batty Boob talks almost exactly like her. do you know what I mean?

reply

Really? my reaction to that bit was more along the lines of disbelief... Like, I couldn't belief she was that far gone, mentally...

reply

I couldn't believe a cutie like her would be unpopular in ANY high school. Do they even KNOW what plain or unattractive girl looks like in Hollywood?

reply

I actually thought she was actually better looking than the ones who were bullying her.

No matter what camera angle? She was beautiful.. in a very quiet/serence way.

some days, it's not worth chewing through the restraints..

reply

If you look at pictures of many of the young girls that have committed suicide after being bullied, for the most part, they're not ugly. For instance, in the Fine Brothers Teens React video on bullying, Lia Marie Johnson, who is quite stunning, talks of being bullied when she was younger. I think your assumption that attractive equals popular doesn't necessarily hold up. Good looks may increase the likelihood that you will be popular and won't be bullied, but it certainly isn't a guarantee.

reply

It's true that not only "ugly" or "plain" types are bullied. Girls or boys can be bullied too for being too pretty, which can occur from envy.

I agree that Emily (Lindsay) is gorgeous, but I think the angle the film makers were coming from was that she was a bit nerdy, introverted and weird, and THAT was the reason for her being targeted by bullies.

reply

yeah, look at kendall jenner. one of the most beautiful women in the world and she was bullied.

reply

exactly, totally. I know Hollywood doesn't know what a plain or unattractive girl looks like. they used to though back in the '80s. it's not realistic when they try to show an unattractive girl in a movie. like in she's all that, the only thing unattractive about her is she wore glasses, and actually that can be attractive, a girl wearing glasses. they did the same thing in Jennifer's body, Amanda seyfried's character was supposed to be nerdy and ugly, they made her wear glasses, but she was actually extremely beautiful even with her glasses on, and she was more beautiful than megan fox's character. yeah Hollywood is clueless when it comes to portraying an ugly or plain or nerdy girl in a movie. the one time where a movie did a fairly good job or good job of portraying an ugly, plain girl was in excision. the main girl looked very plain and ugly with a zit on her face. but in this movie I think she was unpopular because she was an outcast and didn't do normal or the things that most kids in the school did.

reply

She was cute she was better looking than the popular girls

reply

Sometimes girls are ostracized for actually being prettier than the others. Especially if she's not socially skilled enough to have a boyfriend (which happens, not all weirdos are ugly). I've met quite a few attractive girls who lacked self-confidence when they were younger, and those people make for easy targets, regardless of their looks.

reply

Well look at how Emily dresses in school. She dresses fairly casual and simple while the girl posse are a lot more skimpy with hair and make-up done. Emily can look stunning if she wants to, if one looks at her costume. But she wasn't a girl that felt like dolling herself up for school every day - so that might have been one of the reasons why the popular girls made fun of her. She also wore a lot of black, so the girls thought she was emo

I'm gonna die of long hair!

reply

exactly, that's the thing! she was 10 times more beautiful than all the popular girls! she is stunningly beautiful! and she is so cute and irresistible. I love her.

reply

She had a very nice girl next door look!!!! Beautiful.

reply
