Kayak commercial similarity

Anyone notice that the teacher near the beginning was teaching about the Han Dynasty and never turned around, yet knew what the students were up to, which is similar to the Kayak travel site commercial? He also mentions the Han Dynasty. I wonder if the writer was the same or if this was an homage of sorts.

The Final was shot in 2009 and released in 2010, so it came out well before the commercial. Not the same writers. Unless it was the commercial writer doing a homage to The Final I'd say it was just coincidence.
