Campaign Underway for DirecTV to Pickup Rubicon -- Email Them Here

DirecTV has been approached to pickup Rubicon on their 101 Channel.

DirecTV saved and did the same for 'Damages' -- DirecTV execs picked up the show from FX, and now will be shown on DirecTV's 101 channel in 2011.

Contact DirecTV's programming and acquisitions dept to ask them to pick up Rubicon - one quick email is all it takes:

[email protected]

This is not pie-in-the-sky; they will gauge demand by how many people contact them.

Tell DirecTV that with Rubicon's one million viewers, DirecTV will generate a new pool of signups if they pickup the show. There has to be economic payoff for the channel to purchase a show so this is it.

In addition, Rubicon is picking steam for DirecTV as the outlet most likely to save the show:

Sent an e-mail. This and Terriers desperately needs to be saved.

Don't blame someone else for setting the trap that you were stupid enough to walk into.

reply

Didn't DirectTV save Friday night lights too?

reply

Yes: Friday Night Lights on The 101® Network (DirecTV)

Shades, send an email too to DirecTV if you have been a fan. Cheers.

Done! Crossing my fingers...

reply

Good, now if a hundred more posters from this board do the same thing, we may get somewhere!

reply

Thanks for the link. I've added my plea :)

reply

Thanks Storm for the support throughout the season. Cheers

I absolutely agree. Terriers is amazing, as well. I think it's Donal Logue at his finest...

Also emailed DirectTV. This was a fantastic show. Not enough of this quality about.

"oh mummy, oh daddy - lets all play Kabadi!"

reply

I'll send something when I'm done with the day's errands.

reply

I emailed Directv in support. I love this show. I didn't know the ratings were so low. The rest of this country must be watching something of a lower caliber.

reply

I don't get DirecTV, sooooo....not gonna bother. If it gets saved, I wouldn't be able to see it anyway.

Tell me how to get this laid-back or I'll kill your families!

reply

just sent my email!

thanks to everyone so far in sending those emails over. And if you don't get DirecTV, it's a pretty good service -- it would be worth moving over from a sub par cable provider to DirecTV in order to see Rubicon.

Their digital/technology is the best and plenty of packages to make anyone's budget. They are consistently at number#1 in satisfaction surveys.

They could have thousands of new subscriber overnight if they mentioned they are carrying the show. Keep telling them to carry the show!

So what if you live in an apartment building or a condominium complex where DirecTV is not offered? You should fight for a show you will not be able to actually watch???

And how many people will dicontinue their present service and sign up to get another one in order to watch 'Rubicon'?

People were not watching the show to start with on AMC, Whats the up-shot for DirecTV?

And I'm betting that, by now, half the cast has signed onto different projects. They will not wait around for some unlikely show rescue.

I would get to watch it HD if it were on 101 :/ One thing that probably hurts AMC is the lack of HD on DirecTV.
I don't know what's going on here, but, for the record, I'm into it.

reply

I don't have DirecTV and I'm not getting it anytime soon, so why should I bother? If you had said Netflix or online, then yeah.

I believe in Steve Austin and his plan to put a casino on the moon

reply

It doesn't matter if you don't get DirecTV. If you like the show, fight for it. Otherwise it won't even get made, which means it won't get to DVD, won't get syndicated, etc., etc.

It's a no-brainer. If you like it, fight for it.

In conclusion, the whole "Save Rubicon" movement by pestering DirecTV was a waste of time and ultimately futile!

Deer Direkt Teevee:

Please lay your hands upon all copies of Rubicon you can find. Have all your fat secretaries take a huge dump on the pile, add diesel oil, stir and light.
KEEP STIRRING. You finish more quickly that way.

reply

4 years later but I still sent the email.

reply

w/o Brommel it wouldn't be the same. He only went on to give Homeland a great start...nice job AMC

reply

its been 3.5 yrs since original post.

thanks to all who emailed or may still fire one off for posterity.

reply

I wish they had picked it up...
