Just saw this film and wow, what a mess

I love thrillers and serial killer movies, so i thought this was something right up my alley. With an excellent cast and an intriguing trailer, I was excited to see this but I want my 2 hours back.

Starting off, I was completely unable to understand Sam Worthington and his mumble of aTexas/Australian accent. And then absolutely nothing in this movie makes any sense. Nothing is really explained, seemingly unrelated stories (the white tattooed guy and the actual serial killer) never come together or are fleshed out. Why even show the tattoo guy shoot the black guy in the car and walk away? What did that have to do with the main story, or for that matter, what did it have to do with anything since it never is resolved in any way. And characters seem to change personalities in the middle of sentences. The one cop seems to genuinely care for Little Ann, but then when she needs to be picked up at school, he yells at her to stay home and watch tv (even though earlier he witnessed her horrible home life).

This thing screams of studio or producer tinkering with the final product. I highly doubt these actors thought this was a good script.

Its like they edited three movies together.

He yelled at her because he was upset and didn't want to deal with her at that moment. He's not perfect, but he did come around when she was upset by his treatment of her. I don't see anything wrong with that.

All these complaints amount to it being too much like real life where not everything fits neatly together and cops follow multiple leads that don't always pay off, as though that's bad film-making. I don't see how it is.

If you think Dexter is good, that shows your bias. An absurd show with an entirely implausible premise you think is good?
