Too extreme for me, but undeniably well-crafted (spoilers)

I am not a huge fan of gore in horror movies, so a film where a woman is sexually assaulted via her eye socket was always going to be a one-time watch. However, I thought 'The Sadness' was surprisingly well-made for a film by a first-time director.

One thing that I did find interesting was how heavily inspired it was by Garth Ennis' ('The Boys' on Amazon Prime) comic 'Crossed'. Ennis has been trying to get 'Crossed' adapted as either a TV series or film for around a decade now, but nobody seemed to know how to present such dark, graphic, often X-rated material onscreen. I was impressed that Rob Jabbaz managed to crack that formula.
