Which film is more incoherent, "Suicide Squad", or "Batman vs. Superman"?
Vote here!
BvS theatrical cut for me. Suicide Squad was a mess too but it felt far more complete as a film, just not done very well.
The BvS Ultimate Cut really improved the theatrical cut imo. Perhaps that's why Justice League will clock in at nearly 3 hours when it hits theaters.
SS because it made no sense....it was all over the place
bvs was two crazy superheroes going crazy, it made sense on SOME level at least
Suicide Squad but just barely because BvS theatrical was painfully incoherent as well.
shareI never watched BvS nor SS in theatre so I can't comment about theatrical release, but on dvd I say SS is better. It has bad logic and nonsense story, but the direction, pacing, structure are all better. For action scenes, BvS is far better.
shareDidnt like either one, but BvS was the less coherent of the two.
shareSuicide Squad was all over the place to the point where you had people popping up in different areas, day turning to night and vice versa, and each scene seemed to be 30 seconds long unless it was an action sequence. I'm still not sure what Enchantress' plan was or what that blue swirly thing in the sky was.
BvS had a lot of things that didn't make sense and seemed oddly rushed and over long at the same time, but it was never incoherent.
That said, I actually felt Suicide Squad was more entertaining in a "sit back and watch a crappy b-movie" sort of way.
Suicide squad should only have been made after introducing Harley and joker in a Batman movie. And then it should have been a much more stylized movie. Thinking like sin city. Instead of the straightforward video game call of duty thing they made here.
As for bvs, I really like that movie. My favorite part seems to be most people's worst. When they both realize they love their mommies and stop fighting. With Amy Adams there and those big eyes. I don't get why that makes some people so mad. It's good. A classic cinematic moment for me. Much better than Harley Quinn throwing deadshot a revolver in slow motion.
Easy answer, it's Batman V Superman.
There's not another movie that's such a total mess. The plotting is all over the place and vision wise, it's incoherent, murky and grim. It also has a nearly nonstop musical score running the length of the movie that's booming and broody. If one is looking for a dark, operatic and schizophrenic nightmare, this is your perfect 3 hour torture.
Thats how I felt about it.
My Vote goes to Batman V Superman.
