I Tend to favor JeremyJahns opinion over critics

9 times out of 10 i generally agree with his ratings. And mostly, even if he gives it a very high score, Ill generally agree its a good movie.

So i do think SS is a good, not a great movie. it has a lot of issues, but so do many superhero blockbusters like IM2 and 3, Thor 2, *beep* even Spiderman 3 had way more issues than SS, and critics favored that wayyy more

I tend to agree with his opinions too. That's why I usually listen to his review if he doesn't call it "awesometacular" then I watch the "everything wrong with" aka cinema sins video for a movie instead of seeing wasting time watching the whole movie. It's saved me lots of time and cash that route.

So, you favour a critic over critics?

he snot a critic, he doesnt even favor himself a critic.

hes a relatable critic though- one that seems to not nitpick the shot out of films like alot of critics do

reply

Well, his reviews are usually between 3 and 5 minutes long, and they have to contain a lot of humour and flailing about because that's his shtick. He doesn't go into a lot of detail about a movie, and is going for the "easy consumption" style of criticism. That's perfectly fine, but not exactly film analysis.

It's for people who want to know what he thought, but not so much why he thought so.

He's a critic.

He reviews movies and gets paid to do it.

What's wrong with having a favorite critic?

Absolutely nothing, but that's not what the OP said.

This board is a place where critics are hated - critics are usually thought of as not knowing anything about movies, since they didn't give praise to the DCEU movies.

The OP wrote that he prefers Jeremy Jahns to critics, which is of course a silly notion because Jeremy Jahns is a critic. The reason, of course, is that Jeremy Jahns likes the DCEU. And given the nature of this board, you can apparently not be a critic and like the DCEU - because critics are people who don't know anything about movies, and thus hate the DCEU.

And yes, that is exactly how weird this situation is.

Yeah, I definitely understand that. Trolls on both sides using whatever they can, however they can.

I like his reviews, but that doesn't mean I have the same opinion.

For example, he loved Suicide Squad, and I think it is one of the worst movies I have ever seen.

And he disliked Warcraft (or: good time, alcohol required), and I loved that movie (still acknowledging acting and pacing issues).

What I normally do is: watch the BTT review, watch the JeremyJahns review and read the IGN review. I mostly tend to have a similar taste in movies as Beyond the trailer's Grace Randolph

Yeah, I don't quite get the hate for Warcraft. Was it a perfect film? No, but it had an interesting plot that left me wanting to know what happens next, so as far as I'm concerned it's good storytelling, and a decent movie that I'd be willing to watch again (unlike Suicide Squad).

You're a barely literate jackass so of course you don't like those who aren't.

Not sure the OP's first language is English...

Spider Man 3 was way better than any DCEU film.

Not even kidding that film is so underrated I can't believe it's lower than the DCEU and ASM films.
