I always thought that Marvel in general was more colorful and playful, compared to DC, but as a kid i never really liked the DC characters much, so i started reading Marvel comics.
Also mainly because my brother was already reading Spider-Man comics, so a lot of my first superhero stuff came from there, until i branched a bit out later myself to X-Men and Wolverine.
But initially i was more into Alien and Terminator and RoboCop etc., but when it came to comics, it felt that Marvel was closer to that in terms of designs.
It was only later when the movie franchises got respectable comics too, which is a pity because i stopped reading comics when i was about 12/13 in 1997, when i was in my first year of High school.
Anyway, i had a friend later who was a fan of the Transmetropolitan comic with Spider Jerusalem. I would like to see DC do more of the adult characters, because they have been hammering on Batman and Superman for decades, because they want to stay competitive to Marvel, who generally dont have many mature/adult themed heroes/villains.
This leads them to be compared to each other all the time, DC should start giving the more obscure characters a go too.
Marvel has their happy heroes, GotG and the likes, DC could respond with .. oh, they made Suicide Squad, well, they COULD have responded with a different movie.
Not that i blame them for trying to cash in, but by being compared to Marvel, it raises the bar (or as others call it, dumbing DC down to Marvel kiddie level), either way, they dont seem to be successful at doing any of that, not AS much as Marvel can, or maybe the DC fanbase is smaller too.
What im trying to say is that Marvel seems to lead the way and DC happily stumbles along, but they could try and get a footing in the mature fanbase, to pull a Deadpool of their own. Although to be fair, they did do that before with Watchmen, which was a good movie, so i would like to see more of that kinda stuff instead, a good counter to Marvel, but here i go again comparing :)
I skip reading the bottom line, because it is usually some lame signature.
