Will Smith Deadshot

Personlly I felt like Smith was phoning it in, didn't feel the character at all and instead felt like Will Smith default type of acting.

He was the best part of the movie. So I don't think he phoned it in.

reply

Didn't feel like Deadshot though, that's the part I think he phoned in. Will Smith is a good actor but he was defaulting to previous characters he's done in movies rather than capturing the feel of this villain.

Why were you expecting the cold blooded killer Deadshot?? This takes place later in Deadshot's life. He has a daughter now which has humanized him greatly. Will played the part exactly how it should have been. If you want the Deadshot from the comics than you gotta hope they make a prequel before he has a daughter and goes to prison

reply

He ist still a coldblooded killer, even with his daughter.

reply

Yup. He only acts like he's not when he's AROUND his daughter. However if attacked while out with his daughter, different story. Soemone's gonna fall.

I've baited my hook with my own underwear. Is it wrong that I hope to catch a fish I can relate to?-Ragdoll.

Yeah no difference in his Deadshot or his Agent J.

reply

No.

Will played the part the way he wanted to play the part, which was "as a Will Smith character" first and Floyd Lawton second. He did a better job than I expected him to, but his inflated ego still drizzled all over the film's narrative and very clearly softened the character into something almost unrecognizable. There is no Earth in the multiverse where Deadshot doesn't kill Harley Quinn when offered a full pardon and free ride for his daughter.

reply

Exactly!

I don't think so. I think its more that the character was tailored for Smith. Yes, Smith has a easy going persona in his movies, but I don't think this is the same character as he played in Hancock or in I am Legend.
